Mothers of the Movement

Mothers of the Movement is a group of women whose African American children have been killed by the police or by gun violence.[1]
Seven women in the group spoke at the July 2016 Democratic National Convention[2] in Philadelphia in support of Hillary Clinton's candidacy for President.[3] In August 2016, several members appeared with Beyoncé at the Video Music Awards; the same women had also appeared in the music video for her song Formation.[4] In September 2016, the group campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Florida.[5]
