Important: PayPal for Marketplaces is a limited-release solution at this time. It is available to select partners for approved use cases. For more information, reach out to your PayPal account manager.

PayPal for Marketplaces uses the PayPal REST API in your marketplace to move money to your sellers. Based on how you run your business, choose one of these paths.

Connected Path

Marketplaces Connected Path enables you to partner with PayPal to protect against and manage your risks and losses.

Partners Sellers
Control funds disbursement
  • Must have a PayPal account
  • Are liable for risk loss associated with chargebacks and reversals
  • Handles disputes and collects funds from responsible parties, taking on risk of losses

Managed Path

Marketplaces Managed Path enables you to own trust and safety and fully control your customers' experience.

This table describes the responsibilities that partners and sellers share using Managed Path.
