In 2002, four men decided to start a company with the intention of reinventing home audio for the digital age. John MacFarlane, Craig Shelburne, Tom Cullen and Trung Mai opened their electronics company in Santa Barbara, CA, to produce a variety of wireless audio products. By 2012, Sonos was the largest private-sector company in downtown Santa Barbara. They currently have over 270 employees in Santa Barbara, making it one of the city's largest private-sector employers.
Sonos' Values
The four founders of Sonos had a simple goal in mind when they set out to launch their company. They wanted to provide the most up-to-date and sophisticated audio technology to the average individual consumer, with the belief that everyone should have the ability to enjoy the music they love in every room in their home, and to be able to hear it at it's best via state-of-the-art technology.
What makes Sonos unique?
Sonos never stops looking for ways to improve the average consumers music-listening experience. They are constantly searching for and/or developing new audio technologies to suite the needs of an ever changing technological world. They want to make sure there's something for everyone, and a quick browse through just some of their outstanding products will prove just how hard they've been working and why they're known as one of the best.
