About me

Hello there. I'm Tammy Garcia, a self-taught mixed media artist with a background in quantitative analysis. My artwork follows the tangents of my curiosity rather than a perfect storyline. I do mixed media art journaling, paint with gouache, sew paper collages and draw intricate patterns and mandalas. I tend to wax poetic about my love of art journaling, and you can find a groovy introduction to Art Journaling and mixed media tutorials galore. But really this is the place to find creative prompts to spark your journal pages and your creative work. You could literally follow prompts for months and not run out of ideas. I've been blogging non-stop here at Daisy Yellow since 2008 which was about a year after I started doing any sort of artwork.  In 2011, I founded the annual Index-Card-a-Day Challenge {ICAD} and began teaching online art journaling, painting & creativity workshops. I write in depth about art journaling in my Zine and am addicted to writing creative prompts. Grab a scone and some spearmint tea and wander around.

I founded the Daisy Yellow Index-Card-a-Day Challenge {ICAD} in 2011 to inspire creative people to add more art to their day via a tiny, approachable art project. The 7th annual challenge runs June 1 - July 31, 2017.
