We've covered all but the last tip on creativebits before, but it's still a nice reminder.

The new Airport Time Capsule is one sweet piece of hardware that can replace lots of hardware and cables with one slick tall white box.

In a nutshell it is 3 things in one:

• Superfast 1300 Mbps WiFi (802.11ac) base station
• 2-3TB of Time Capsule backup hard disk

The new iTunes 11 is out Today. It has integrated iCloud, new edge-to-edge design, better views and much better minimized player. If the design of iTunes 11 is any indication of the new OSX look coming out of Sir Sir Jony Ive I have high hopes for for 10.9.

Apple releases OS X 10.8.2 with new Facebook, Messages and FaceTime features. You can now not only Tweet right from your desktop but also post status updates to Facebook. See the images of how it looks like to share webpages from Safari, share a post from the sidebar notification window and post a picture from your desktop. Facebook integration also allows you to add your location and select the audience for your status updates. If you're posting an image you select the album too.

Are you missing the colorful sidebar icons in OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion? You can get them back. Just follow the simple steps here.

We all probably know that to delete a custom System Preferences Pane from your OS X installation you can CTRL-Clicking on the icon and select the Remove Preference Pane from the pop-up menu.

But what if you don't want to remove it but only hide it. You can do that easily: open System Preferences app, then go to the View menu and select Customize. This will bring up checkboxes next to each Preference Pane. Uncheck those you don't use and don't want to see. You can always bring them back or just select them from the same drop down menu.

When you connect any external drive to your Mac Spotlight will immediately start indexing it. This makes sense in most cases because you want to be able to search them later on, but in certain situations you may want to exclude drives. Examples for such need may include:

• Drives with private information that you don't want others to see, especially if you're on a shared computer.
• Large drives that are connected only temporarily and you don't want Spotlight to waste CPU and hard drive resources on indexing them.
