A nice weekend

The weather was nice and warm last weekend.
Everything is growing...
... everywhere...
Old dog is smiling to the sun.
The summer dress is finished... (But today it is raining...)
Now, these cute fabrics will have to wait for a little while...
I really need to get back to quilting,... first the turquoise quilt, then the next 12x12 piece.

Snow

We knew it. It was going to snow. But still, it was again a nightmare on the roads yesterday. I was lucky to be back home before it got really serious.
And today, it looks like it's going to snow again. Maybe we'll have a white Christmas this year.
My old dog had fun in the garden this morning. But he gets tired so quickly now that I think I'll go for a walk all by myself this afternoon.

Quilting, and gardening...

Today is a gorgeous day again. But, as it was pretty cold this morning, I first spent a few hours quilting. And, this afternoon, I'm gardening.
Somes leaves are turning yellow already...

There are small apples in the grass...
And, as usual, old faithful dog is not far away, sniffing...
... and ready to start barking...

It's raining...

It's pouring like hell, and the dog wants to be outside...
At the same time, it's very sunny inside... I'm listening to the new Cat Stevens' cd while cutting and pinning. And here is what's on my design board...

I'm beginning to see where I'm going to with my new 12x12 quilt...
Next is the quilt I almost hated the other day. I don't like it very much yet, but I've sponged some dark turquoise paint in a few spots and it's getting better.

Now, it's ready to be quilted.
Yes, it's my foot there on the table... ;-)

Of snow and chairs

We are enjoying some snow again. And I'm so glad I didn't have to drive yesterday... The roads were quite slippery.
I took this picture from inside as it is really cold today. It was -13°C this morning, which is completely unusual here.
The dog thinks this is very funny and keeps on asking to go and play in the garden.
Here he is coming back from a little outing...

Then, of course, he needs to take a nap until next playtime...I started working on my 12x12 "Chairs" quilt. I made a lot of sketches on paper, and also in my head (during the night). Today, I thought it was time for me to start sewing, otherwise I might become a real insomniac...The piecing is done. Tomorrow, I'll start the quilting and embroidery.
A few days ago, I did sign up for the new Creative Every Day Challenge at Leah's blog. It is a very gentle challenge, no hard rules, but I hope it will remind me to spend more time every day in my little studio.

Ready to quilt

Yesterday night, I did the back-breaking part of the job: basting the three layers of the quilt together. Now I am ready for a few relaxing evenings in front of the telly.
My dog was not really interested in helping me. There was a time when he woud have tried to lie on the quilt just for fun.

I know it's spring...

...when my dog starts working in the garden...And the next picture is for my friends of the Twelve by Twelve group, especially Diane...
I spent some time today thinking about Sharon's Take it Further challenge for April. I'm going to work with the palette this time. But I must say this looks very dark on my monitor... I looked at the source picture from China, and searched my dyed fabrics to find similar colours. I came up with these...
I'm going to make a small quilt.

Springtime?

My backyard this morning... A perfect day for a long walk with the dog...
After a little while, the sun broke through the clouds... Lovely!

Springtime?

We've been enjoying a few nice and mild days. But tomorrow, it's supposed to start freezing again. In the meantime, my doggy has found something yummy in the grass... I won't tell you the mess he made in the house after this... Dogs never learn... Sunday was our first sailing day of the year. The wind was a bit too weak, but we enjoyed it anyway. No PSP effect in the next picture... Just the sun playing on the water...

Take it Further

Sharon has posted her February Take it Further Challenge here. I went for the colour palette again, and played a little with two of my digital pictures.
I think the first image could be translated into a small quilt, but I'm not sure this is the kind of thing I would like to make.
Maybe I could interpret the second image with my needlefelting machine... What do you think?

Gardening days

DH is trimming the hedge... I'm taking care of the flower beds...
... watching their inhabitants...
Mmm... I'm going to have to watch the birds too...
And my favourite dog is supervising all this...

From my garden

The weather has been really nice... I'm spending a lot of time outside, doing a little bit of everything. The garden still looks like a jungle. But my dog is weeding the borders for me...

Spring

After a rather cold week, spring came back. Today, it is sunny and almost warm. And my dog believes he is a puppy again.
