Data Observatory measures are requested through the SQL interface in any Dataset or Visualization view. You can use the Data Observatory to quickly augment your existing datasets with new columns.

1
 UPDATE {{your table}} SET {{target column}} = OBS_GetUSCensusMeasure(the_geom, 'Total Population')

Or you can request boundaries and store the results as a new table.

1
 SELECT the_geom FROM OBS_GetBoundariesByGeometry(ST_Buffer(CDB_LatLng(39.055833, -95.689444),0.5),'us.census.tiger.county')
