Embroidered Pumpkin Project - Part Three

I have an update on my pumpkin project.  {Part 1 / Part 2} I have finished the embroidering!

There are quite a few interesting stitches used, and I would like to share my stitch list as well as the floss colors and numbers.

The pumpkin body is stitched using columns of long Straight Stitches.  The center rib section is Jacobean Couching Stitch.  The pumpkin body, stem and tendrils are outlined with Back Stitch.

The maple leaf is outlined with Back Stitch and filled with Straight Stitch.  The red and yellow small leaves  are Fishbone Stitch.  The red and the yellow oak leaves are Long and Short Stitch.  The veins of all the leaves are Back Stitch.  The Acorn body is Satin Stitch and the cap is Back Stitch and filled with French Knots.  The small accent flowers are Lazy Daisy Stitches with French Knot centers.

Here are the floss color numbers used for this project:

This pumpkin motif is available in my Thanksgiving Embroidery Pattern Set.  You can find that set - here.

This beautiful motif is from my Thanksgiving embroidery pattern.
The green leaves are stitched with the Fishbone Stitch.  The stems are all done with Stem Stitch :) .  The curly lines are Back Stitch.  The berries are French Knots and the maple leaf is Long and Short Stitch.

Here are the floss colors I used:

I am also finishing up the stitching on this big pumpkin - I will post the stitch and floss color information when I am finished!

Pugs! Embroidery Pattern

I have a new embroidery pattern available in my shop:

Pugs!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen a design in-progress screen capture I recently shared:

I really love all the motifs in this set!

I have finished embroidering the "pugtastic" motif and am so happy with the result!

My stitch list is fairly straightforward.  The blue lines are stitched in alternating lines using the Double Knot Stitch and the Stem Stitch.  The lines are accented by metallic gold lines done in Running Stitch.  The red hearts are done with Satin Stitch.  The orange dots are French Knots.  The pug is done in Long and Short Stitch with Stem Stitch, Back Stitch, Satin Stitch and French Knots for definition.

The color palette is

Red DMC #3801

Browns DMC #300, 938

Blue DMC #4230 color variations

Gold Kreinik #002HL blending filament

Tan DMC #3770

Black DMC #310

White DMC Blanc

Orange DMC #741

Brick and Cross Filling Stitch

Time for a new addition to my 100 Stitches Plus list.

This is the Brick and Cross Filling Stitch.

For my demonstration, I am using this color variations perle cotton floss:

As the name states, this is a filling stitch.  It is a very easy one, made up of Straight Stitches and Cross Stitches.
This filling is worked in vertical columns, working top to bottom and from left to right.
To start, I came up through the fabric at the top left corner of the area to be filled:

I formed four Straight Stitches:

Under the four Straight Stitches, I made a Cross Stitch:

Then another set of four Straight Stitches:

For the next column, I started and ended with the Cross Stitch:

And for the final column, I repeated the steps from the first column:

So simple!  Here is a look at the underside of the fabric:

This stitch is from the book Embroidery Stitches by Mary Webb.

Folk Art Flowers Project - Part Two

I finished the embroidery on my flower project that I first blogged about here.

For the flower, I used Long and Short Stitch as a fill.  The greenish yellow center is made up of French Knots and Straight Stitch.
The green leaves are stitched with Fishbone Stitch.

For the bright green curved stems, I used Back Stitch.  The small green leaves are Lazy Daisy Stitch.  The accent dots are French Knots.
For the purple berries, I used rows and rows of Back Stitch:

For all the floss I used, here are the color numbers:

You may notice that all the shades of purple have the same number!  I used a color variations skein of perle cotton floss and cut lengths that included the colors I liked.

Space Theme Pillowcase Border - Part Two

I have an update to share on the pillowcase border I first posted about here

Since that last post, I have completed the blue moon, the orange ringed planet and various stars.  I still have a few stars to stitch.  You can see the tracing paper transfer is holding up well - I can still see the stars to stitch.  The transfer has not been brushed off or smeared despite all the handling of the fabric:

I am so happy with the floss colors I am using.  Especially the orange and blue.  The purple stars are metallic floss which is really challenging to work with!

This border motif is from my Space! embroidery set.

Teddy Bear On A Swing Embroidery - Part One

This teddy bear on a swing is a work in progress that I wanted to share.  There is not much work done, as I am still in the color selecting phase!

You may remember this little teddy bear - he is from my Teddy Bear embroidery set.  I have previously stitched him in dark brown:

This time around, I have started with these gold, cream and black colors.  The bear will be filled in, probably with a combination of Long and Short Stitch, Straight Stitch and Back Stitch.

When I have more progress to show, I will be back with Part Two!
