The Office for Human Resources (HR) provides leading HR services that support the members of the Berklee community in achieving Berklee’s mission to educate, train, and develop students to excel in music as a career. Christine Connors

Oversees and directs all strategic management policies and practices, benefits, employee relations, employment, compensation, organizational and employee development, and human resources information systems, programs, and communications in order to support strategic goals and initiatives of the college. Advises and provides practices to create a diverse and positive work environment, and services to enhance institutional effectiveness and to foster collaboration.

Provides administrative support to the vice president for Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion and manages the HR office. Oversees service recognition reception, and other daily operations in the HR office.

Responsible for leading the Human Resources business partners and recruiter in establishing strong collaborative relationships and managing and delivering high quality strategic HR consultation and services to leaders and staff in the areas of employee relations, leadership development, staffing, performance management, retention, and engagement. Also responsible for HR policy development and interpretation.

Michael Burton

Responsible for the delivery of HR programs and services in the areas of staffing, employee relations, compensation, manager coaching and consultation, and performance management. Also oversees Berklee's staff compensation pay programs. Conducts market studies and works with departments in writing job descriptions and conducting analysis.

Additionally acts as a resource in identifying and developing organizational development and/or training initiatives that can be used as a tool for management and/or employee issues.

Provides consulting services to the college community regarding recruitment and staffing of exempt and nonexempt employees. Administers and maintains records for temporary staffing, applicant tracking, and general human resources reporting.

Oversees and serves as the liaison for all Office of Human Resources Information systems, reporting, and general office operations. Serves as the technology expert in developing effective solutions and promoting strategic use of technology.
Manages the Smartwork program, which brings together people from around the college to collaborate on a problem or improve a process across departments. Coaches each project manager through the design of a project, the facilitation of the team, and the presentation of team recommendations to the sponsors.

Manages HR transactional data for staff and faculty including new-hire information, name changes, and other employee updates. Also, provides functional and technical support to HR staff and counterparts around the college and makes recommendations on best practices with facilitating personnel changes in the system.

Oversees design, compliance, and communication of benefits to all faculty and staff, with special focus on retirement benefits. Counsels faculty and staff on retirement benefits and retirement planning issues. Oversees executive benefits programs.

Responsible for administration of benefits programs. Oversees delivery of service by outside vendors. Counsels faculty and staff on insurance and other benefits.
Alyssa Ozimek-Maier
Provides management of data for compensation and benefits planning and compliance processes; administers and audits benefits vendor data exchanges; manages leaves of absence and immigration/visa processes; assists in communicating compensation and benefits policies and programs.
