Welcome to BBC Broadcasting House, the iconic home of the BBC reinvented for the digital future. For the first time in its history, the BBC has brought together its News, Radio, Television and Online services into one central London headquarters to provide the most advanced digital broadcast and production centre in the world.

Delivering one of the largest creative broadcast centres in the world

Broadcasting House is now the BBC’s largest creative hub in the UK, generating more live output than any other BBC site to provide better and more integrated content and services for its audiences. It provides public service broadcasting to over 10 million people across the UK at any one time and to a worldwide audience of more than 150 million every week.

The redevelopment of Broadcasting House in the centre of London is the largest capital project ever undertaken by the BBC. It took a decade to complete, cost £1,014m and involved the biggest single migration of staff in the BBC’s 90 year history. The redevelopment was part of a wider cost-saving strategy to consolidate the BBC’s property portfolio and centralise its London operation. This will ultimately produce savings of more than £700m over the remaining 21-year life of the BBC lease on Broadcasting House.

Opening its doors to audiences and visitors

There is an array of new public facilities in the new building, including a new external piazza at the heart of the complex enhanced with specially designed artworks and lighting, a new reception and Media Café serving the Radio Theatre audiences and offering a vista directly over the central newsroom.
