Getting Started with AWS Transfer for SFTP

Set up your server endpoint, users and bucket

After learning about AWS Transfer for SFTP (AWS SFTP), it's easy to sign up for AWS and to get started hosting your file transfers in AWS. Here are the simple steps to get started.

STEP 01

Sign up for a free AWS account

If you don't have an AWS account, set one up for free.

Learn about AWS SFTP

You can dig into the FAQs for key facts, and dive deeper in the docs. Also, stay tuned for more recorded sessions, blogs and demos.

STEP 03

Go to the Console

The AWS SFTP console is where you manage all of your SFTP service operations.

STEP 04

Create endpoint and map your hostname

Deploy your SFTP server endpoint, and associate your preferred hostname with it.

STEP 05

Set up your users

Select your identity provider and set up your users’ access to your endpoint.

STEP 06

Select your S3 bucket(s)

Assign IAM role(s) to access your S3 bucket(s) for storing the data transferred over SFTP.
