- Please review and adhere to the copyright restrictions contained in this agreement.
- Permission to publish, distribute, or reproduce material in any format, including the internet, must be obtained from the Merrill-Cazier Library. Commercial use fees may apply.
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS— The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies and other reproductions of copyrighted material. Read More
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. SCA has determined “fair use” to be no more than 25% of a published, copyrighted work.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying or reproduction request if, in its opinion, fulfillment of the request would involve violation of copyright law.
It is the responsibility of the user to obtain permission to publish from the owner of the copyright (the institution, the creator of the record, the author or his/her transferees, heirs, legatees, or literary executors). The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Utah State University, its officers, employees, and agents from and against all claims made by any person asserting that he or she is an owner of copyright.
