::::::::::::::::::::::: Artist: Fingerflood Title: Beats And Stabs And Kick In Four :::::::: Fingerflood is an electronic music project born as a part of the many musical extensions of Gaetano Fontanazza. What we have in this debut release named “Beats and Stabs and Kick in Four” is the strong intent to basically dive into the fat obscure electronic moods of dub techno, somehow near to the Berlin scene if you like. The release has an ideal split in the middle of its playlist, switching...

Milanese Nwas is the sound of weightless bytes, carefully weaved to accompany the listener into a realm of self-generated paradoxical melodies. It’s music freed from the heaviness of pulse, liberated from the dictatorship of sequences and the weight of measurement. Each track lives, like insects and plants, as if autonomous agents of a digital biosphere taken control of the computer and created a collection of aural epiphanies. Working with custom designed softwares and advanced digital...

On December 24th, 2007, Gregory “Tha Silent Partner” Davis released the first volume in what would become an enduring series of music release that altogether has accumulated an incredible 100,000+ downloads. In our little Creative Commons licensed / Netlabel sphere of music, those kinds of numbers are hard to come by. If, as an artist, you’re getting numbers like that, you’re doing something right. Of course, TSP is. It’s difficult for a music producer to develop “a sound”, yet,...

In March of 2016, we were all introduced to a formidable trip-hop producer hailing from Crimea and going by the name of Cutside . His blocSonic debut EP Paramnesia made a lasting impression with his sophisticated and powerful sound. Today he returns with a long player that’ll knock your teeth out and laugh at you. The instant that you’re barraged by the artillery beats and Unkle Rasta’s menacing rhymes of track 1 “Welcome To Reality”, you come to the conclusion that you’re listening...

Erich Schall effortlessly assembles, a deep steppin’ beautiful soundsphere with his self-titled track “Dubcutan.” Wavering chords, subdued distance...

At the Brainhall synapses twitch with joy to the beat, when Roman Schürch and Andreas Glauser launch their machines. Frequencies are modulated, punctured, tweaked and pitched. In doing so, the tones and textures of the five tracks are kept well in flux by the fixed rhythm scaffolds and repetitive sequences. Due to the analogue origin of Kid Schurke and Brain Hall’s machine music, the overall sound is organic and warm. This is glitch and hop, noise, ambient and improv jam. Sometimes there are...

There are sometimes exceptions, Adriano Mirabile makes here one, and explores new territories, headfirst, proving that he can feel at home also breaking the schemes. This was the homework. The limitations make the music, and in this case, avoiding the standards was the exercise. After two years of releases in the Futur[e]cho series, the series returns once again with its longest release yet. Getting somewhat away from the goal of the series, pairing lesser known artists with bigger names in the scene, last years release got away from that. This years release has a bunch of artists you've probably not heard of that need to be heard along with some bigger talent you've already heard of. This years release also instills more Ambient Techno than Dub Techno, but there is a...

Melancholic, dreamy, elegant, diverse and distinct, the arctic vitality of Flavio Severino’s album “Mancanze” tells a solemn and in-places oneiric tale that stands well on its own, riddled with delicate nuance and a hyperborean conviction. With an ethereal tranquility that appears to pulsate in time with the landscape it claims to represent, natural, classical and contemporary inspiration becomes apparent, with juxtaposing genres complimenting each other magnificently. The cyclical nature...

The man behind Agathan brings us his first release since helping get Cold Fiction Music off the ground. This time around he is bringing us some Minimal Techno under his Zimmermann alias. Nine very good tracks make up Mehr, Bitte. There may only be 9 tracks on the album, but they include some very good stuff and 1 remix that you can’t even tell was a solo piano piece before it got remixed. There’s even a song based off of the windows 95 startup music done by Brian Eno. Zimmermann really...
