We work in 45 countries all over the world, in the places where we can make the biggest impact. We tackle poverty and the denial of human rights at a local level, and we challenge the causes behind them nationally and globally.

Everywhere we see similar problems. But often the solutions are different – so we’re working together, sharing ideas, spreading inspiration and learning from each other.

Africa

Africa is the heart of ActionAid. It’s where our head office is, and it’s where we started our work more than 40 years ago. We’re working with inspiring people in Africa, from Masai women activists to former child soldiers in Liberia to teachers in Senegal.
Americas

We run programmes in Brazil, Guatemala, and Haiti and Nicaragua, and support social movements in other Latin American countries. In the US, we challenge the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the US government to tackle global poverty.
Asia & Australia

We work in 15 countries in Asia, supporting the poorest and most disadvantaged people – from trafficked women to exploited labourers to street children.
ActionAid Australia has been working to help people affected by conflict, natural disaster and poverty for over 40 years.
Europe

The European Union is the world’s largest aid donor and the decisions that it makes have a major impact on the lives of millions of people in developing countries around the world.
