The goal of this Special Issue is to support the development of educational programs in synthetic biology through two categories of articles:
- Articles describing resources supporting synthetic biology education
- Articles reporting the effectiveness of education programs in synthetic biology

Article Types
Research Articles
Research articles report on important original research relevant to the scope of Synthetic Biology.
Review Articles
Review articles provide an introduction to, and update on, recent progress in a particular field, which is accessible to a researcher not working directly in that discipline.
Software
Software articles are short, and introduce and describe new computational resources relevant to the field. This can include stand-alone software, software libraries, web services, and databases.
Education
Education articles can include historical reviews, practical tutorials, compilations of YouTube videos, description of a course, and reports of iGEM or DIYBio projects.
