Alcohol Inks on Acetate Cards

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today with a fun and colorful technique that I enjoy creating. I used Tim Holtz alcohol inks in bottles to ink up the Hero Arts clear acetate notecards. I dripped the inks onto the cards without using an applicator or heat tool to dry and just let the ink do whatever it wanted…that’s the fun part!

After they dried, I trimmed the panels down, used the Hero Arts So Sorry stamp and cut hearts and then adhered the panels to a white notecard and music paper I had.

On this card, I wrote the words “love” and “you” on the card in a loopy, loose way. You could use some writing stamps or washi tape, but I wanted to try some handwriting.

img_3192

On this card, I used the large heart die cut, and backed it with some music paper I had. You could use a song that means something to your valentine, but in this case, I used what I had and left out any lyrics.

img_3200

These are fun to make, and I have several more card panels that are all dripped and painted and ready to go for another project. Keep in mind that alcohol inks stain, so don’t get too wild when you’re using them 🙂

And also the silver or gold alcohol inks are less translucent than the colors, so use them sparingly with the colors, as they tend to reverse the stained glass effect.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you’ll enter our February challenge here, and maybe you’ll win the $25 gift code to the store!

Hero Arts Hello butterfly

Hello there.  Dawn here.  I’ve been playing with some pretty soft colours this week.

img_2369w

I used water colours to make a the card from which I die cut the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy dies DI078.  I used pinks, purples and blues in lighter tones.   For the background, I used a Hero Arts Stencil (SA026 BG Leaf and Flourish- currently out of stock but you can custom order on the A2Z site )  with some pale inks.  I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts Hello Stamp & Cut DC151 with Versafine Onyx black ink, a couple of times to get a nice dark sentiment.

Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Coloured In with Copics

It’s Sue here with a new card.

hero-arts-youre-so-lovely-card-with-copics

I thought that I’d try something different. Instead of using ink and the stamps to create my card, I added additional colour using copic markers. It changed the look of the stamps and seemed to add a bit of dimension and shading to the images. I chose to cluster the blooms and leaves towards the top of the card and balance it out with the sentiment near the bottom of the card. I completed the cards with a few sequins to add a bit of shine and sparkle.

We’d love for you to join our challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking. Please be sure to use at least ONE main Hero Arts product as the focal element.

VALENTINE CARD WITH LOVE IS BY LIA

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a Valentine card with Love is by Lia is a card that I made using one of the new stamp sets from Hero Arts. Valentine is around the corner and I am sure you have a lot of friends to celebrate this day or to send Valentine cards, and I decided dedicate this month to Love. Take a look at my card:

VALENTINE CARD WITH LOVE IS BY LIA

The base of my card is Rose Red and the second layer is Whisper White. I stamped the envelope and the heart using different colors of ink, Rose Red for the hearts and Sahara Sand for the envelope. For the word LOVE, I used the double stamping technique, first I stamped the image with Rose Red Ink and then I moved a little the image and stamped again the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

VALENTINE CARD WITH LOVE IS BY LIA

As final touch I added some black heart sequins on the envelopes. The original images has the hearts included but I wanted to add more bling with the sequins.

You can find Love is by Lia from Hero Arts and more sets like this in the a2z scrapbooking store where you can enjoy 15% off with my discount code MARTHA15. If there’s ever something you want that you don’t see in store, use the custom order button. It’s easy, quick and you don’t pay more!

Valentine

Hello hello hello! Hope everyone is doing well and ready start the second month of 2017. I can’t believe January is already almost over. I’m working on Valentine’s Day cards since it’s a few short weeks away.

valentine

I used some distress inks to color my background and then made a stencil using the die. I placed is randomly on the watercolor base and used some distress glaze to create a barrier. I then sprayed the panel heavily with water and took it paper towels to soak up the water to lighten up the color.

I used my scraps from the the original panel to die cut some smaller heart to scatter on the card. I heat embossed part of my sentiment and die cut the other with black card stock. Once all my elements were on the panel, I adhered it to a glittered cardbase and added Wink of Stella to the die cut word.

Stretch your Hero Arts Color Layering Stamps

Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflu

Hi Friends! Kristina here playing with my new set of Hero Arts Color Layering Butterfly Stamps. I decided instead of layering I wanted something a little more bold, but simple, so I only used the background layer of one of the butterflies to repeatedly stamp assorted color butterflies in Hero Arts Dye Inks. I used the same ink colors and my new Clarity Brushes to color a strip of trimmed off paper the same colors as the butterflies, and used that to line the edge of the card after mounting on some glitter paper. Popped on a sentiment, and there you have it!

Hero Arts Ring Bold Prints + Thanks

Hi friends! Hope you are doing well and thanks for stopping by! Have you had time to join our challenge this month – ANYTHING GOES? If not, you can link up here!

Don’t forget, you can save 15% at our Etsy store by using the code: MicheleG15! Don’t hesitate to snag some new goodies to celebrate the new year! 😉 Don’t see what you are looking for? Just ask, they do special orders!

I embossed this super fun Hero Arts background stamp with Hero Arts white embossing powder on some miscellaneous watercolor paper – really – it was just in my stash from a kit I received a few months ago. I then sponged on 3 distress inks – Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, and Dusty Concord. I used the Distress Sprayer to add some water, let it sit for a bit then mopped up any excess with a dry paper towel.

I already had this THANKS die cut sponged and tipped with gold and I was bound and determined to put it to use! I embossed the additional sentiment on vellum from the Hero Arts Thanks stamp and cut set.

I recently purchased these 4 Tim Holtz dies; I cut one from cardstock and used it as a stencil to apply gold paint and texture paste mixed together. The corner piece is another one of the dies cut from vellum.

I finished it off with some black and white striped paper from my stash, gold glitter paper, a cute little pre-cut doily already colored in purple and layered it all up and mounted with fun foam.

Thanks for visiting, we can’t wait to see your creations!

Hero Arts – Romeo and Juliet

Hello everyone,

It’s Donna and the challenge for this month is “Anything Goes”.  Have you joined in on the fun?  I hope you will take time, there is still time.  You can link your project here. Please be sure that your project contains at least ONE main HERO ART Product as the focal element!

I love challenges that are “anything goes”, you can test your imagination! As much as I enjoy making Christmas Cards and Coffee Cards, I love making Valentine Cards. I love the colors of pink, red and black together. Here is my card for inspiration:

romeo-and-juliet

Closer look at the image:romeo-and-juliet2

I am using the new Hero Arts Romeo and Juliet set.  Here is how I put my card together:

  1.  My card is an A2 card, and the second layer measures 4 x 5 1/4,
  2. I embossed the second layer with the rose embossing folder,
  3. I die cut my hearts using the new Hero Arts Nesting Hearts Infinity dies, I took the second and third largest heart dies and centered them on some black card stock and die cut them out,
  4. I then die cut the third heart again with the light pink paper,
  5. I then stamped the girl and boy image with Hero Arts intense black ink,
  6. I took a green and red marker and colored the rose stamp and placed it in the boy’s hand to look like he was giving it to his girlfriend,
  7. I used my tape runner and added the black and pink hearts to my card,
  8. I then stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Floral Heart Stamp and Cut with versamark and used the Hero Arts white embossing powder and heat set it,
  9. I die cut the sentiment and used foam tape to pop the image on my card,
  10. I finished my card by adding some Hero Arts Sparkle Gem hearts to my card.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can also use the code “Donna15” to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.
