    trump is a bully who often backs down when confronted by a larger bully. this is obvious. it makes it hard to take his threats seriously, which is dangerous

    TR advised to talk softly and carry a big stick. talks (and tweets) loudly but with an uncertain stick. National security in the nuclear age and at a time US commitments are greater than its capabilities is much too serious and dangerous to conduct on twitter

    Our response to Trump’s firing of Rosenstein or Sessions should be just as forceful as it would be if he fired Mueller. His removal of any of them would be an effort to hold himself above the law, which we can nowise tolerate.

    yes. I have seen some news outlets stenographically report that trump describes the raids as a "break in". That is not correct and reporting must make that clear. NPR did a good job explaining this morning.

    Reminder: There are no “red lines” when it comes to the scope of the rule of law. Raid was approved by numerous officials and conducted within the law. Impunity is for despots.
