    I’m proud to be a 3rd generation tech nerd and some day I’ll have to get a job. But I’ve got a pretty strict requirement: my grandpa and dad’s employee number is one digit off so I’ll have to be picky on mine.

    It’s official, after 37 years and countless miles traveled my father, , is retired from . It’s said we see further by standing on the shoulders of giants. With over 70 years of experience at IBM between my Grandpa and Dad I’ve got some tall shoulders to sit on.

    I finally watched the first with my 4 year old and 2 year old for the first time and I’ve never related so much to a movie character as I did the father. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Each night I rebuild all the sets after they’re done playing with them.

    One feature smart light switches should have is the ability to disable them entirely for periods of time. Like at bedtime in my toddler’s room. What do you say ?

    Just saw a support form on a product website that asked for a url to debug and the admin credentials to the site with a checkbox that said it was ok to disable plugins/themes to debug. Please, please, please don't do this if you're a product developer.

    What does the cybersecurity landscape look like in 2019? Similar to 2018 but with more breaches as data lakes grow. If you don't have a cybersecurity plan for your business you're late, but there's still hope. Make '19 the year you harden your business
