    Please tell teenagers who think they can’t afford to study that from 2020 if their family income <£27,500 then they will get a min bursary of £4,200 each year of study as an undergrad + a paying internship. Yes, that’s ‘free’ money in addition to student loan.

    I’m proud that we’ve taken this pledge & are providing support, but I am even more proud of the remarkable students who are estranged and/or have a care background. Their achievements, tenacity and determination are awesome and humbling.

    Here's 's pledge letter from Prof Martin Williams. It goes a long way to explain where they are, and the future plans. The bursary provision is generous - both for students formally defined as estranged & those on the fringes of the definition.

    I worked with to bring the pledge to life. Ellie MacDonald & Prof Martin Williams both showed real commitment to change for estranged students. There's many critical narratives about WP at Oxbridge, but they've been excellent on this issue
