86th Training Division Hosts Warrior Exercise

The 86th Training Division is back in action hosting Warrior Exercise (WAREX) 86-17-02 at Fort McCoy.

Guardian Response, as part of Vibrant Response, is a multi-component training exercise run by the U.S. Army Reserve designed to validate nearly 4,000 service members in Defense Support of Civil Authorities in the event of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear catastrophe. The 84th Training Command is the hosting organization for this exercise, with the training operations run by the 78th Training Division, headquartered in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Air Assault Day Zero

Patton's Own: The first ever Air Assault course in Kuwait began with day zero at Camp Buehring. U.S. Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen candidates begin the day with a two mile run in uniform and then attempt the obstacle course. Those who can complete the course move on to the next phase that teaches troops how to ready equipment for helicopter sling load and rappel operations. Small Arms, Big Impact

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 384th Military Police Battalion supported the U.S. Army Reserve Marksmanship Team to host the Midwest Small Arms Championship at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, in late April 2017. The championship brought in Soldiers from 20 different units to compete and improve their marksmanship skills. Engineers Make Their Own Path

NYPD officer, Army Reserve Soldier to be honored in National Police Memorial

May 8, 2017 - The first New York City police officer killed in Iraq while serving as an Army Reserve Soldier will be honored in the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial this year in Washington, D.C., during National Police Week. Staff Sgt. James D. McNaughton’s name will be officially dedicated along with other police officers who died in the line of duty during the 29th Annual Candlelight Vigil, May 13, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

May 7, 2017 - The Medical Support Unit – Europe has a new commander. Army Reserve Col. Daniel F. Bohmer assumed command from Army Reserve Col. Bidemi Y. Olaniyi-Leyimu during a May 6 outdoor ceremony on Daenner Kaserne.
