A layout and Canvas created for CHA...

Hi!

I am very excited to share that I had the opportunity to design samples for this summer's CHA.  I'm still kind of pinching myself because it came out of the blue and totally by surprise!

I have several projects but I will just share 2 at a time for now.

This first project is a mini canvas from Canvas corp.

I used some modeling paste, and tattered angels mists over the Scrap Fx pipeworks stencil.

The flowers were rolled roses made from some of canvas corps hand made paper.  I love this stuff because its so soft and it looks awesome torn as well!

Next up is a layout I created using 7 gypsies Harmony collection along with some canvas corp papers and burlap.

I was trying to find a unique way to use the 7gypsies hangers so I decided to use them to create banners, and really liked how they turned out!

I made the rolled roses from some printed canvas and then created the other flowers out of coffee filters that I tea stained to give a vintage look.
It's one of the best smelling pages I've ever made...

That is it for  today.  I will be back soon with more Cha projects to share!
Oh and just in case you missed it, don't forget to check out my latest video tutorial here.

Hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

Video tutorial to share...

Hi!
I FINALLY have another video to share.  Unfortunately, its of a past layout and I have another one of the background to share soon as well.  I thought maybe the moment was gone but I've had requests so I decided to go ahead and share it anyway!

Oh, and just in case you worried that I would have really annoying background music again...don't fret my Pet...
it IS just as annoying as the last video! ;)

This time I did a lot better staying in the frame though.  So I'm improving, and that's all that matters right?

After your done watching the video, don't forget to hop on over to see what other stencil techniques that the team has shared!

P.S.  Don't forget about the recipe challenge going on over at scrapfx.  If you are our winner you will have the chance to be our guest designer and play with some yummy goodies!

Plus, who doesn't love a recipe challenge?!

Putting some Scrap Fx stencils to work!

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to take a quick second to share some layouts I created for the Scrap Fx blog!

First, I have a grungy layout using the Shoe prints stencil.
Seriously, this is one cool stencil!
I only used one of the prints, but there are several on the stencil...

Shoe Prints stencil

I decided to make "tracks" by flipping the stencil over to have a right and left foot...

This is my first time creating an accordian flower.  Well its not my first attempt but my first successful attempt! lol

The background is covered in words of encouragement. All of the words have to do with stepping.
Stepping out in faith....marching to the beat of a different drum....taking the road less traveled...stepping out of her comfort zone...etc

Products Used:

Canvas Corp Navy and Kraft chevrons
Canvas Corp Navy and ivory polka dots
7gypsies ephmera
7 gypsies antique metal clip
tattered angels java glimmer glaze

NEXT, is a layout I created for a friend of mine.  Her wedding pics were some of the most beautiful pics I've ever seen so I had to get my hands on them to scrap.

You can see her pics on the "Lasting Impressions" Facebook page here.

She is just such a beautiful person inside and out...but really?  She looks like a model here!

Products used:

Canvas corp black and cream striped paper

Thats all I have to share for now!  Don't forget about the recipe challenge we have going on at Scrap Fx.  join and you could win a chance to guest design with them...which means working with some awesome chipboard and possibly stencil(s)!

pok-a-dots and a recipe challenge

Hi everyone!

There is a new challenge up over at Scrap Fx.

This months challenge is one of my favorite kinds...a recipe challenge!

I love to see what kind of projects people whip up using the same ingredients.

Here is the recipe:

  • The color teal
  • Feather(s) (real or faux)
  • Use a stencil
  • Include some heat embossing
  • Flowers
  •

Your mission is to use all 5 ingredients on a crafty project of your choice.

I chose to do a grungy layout using some Canvas Corp papers, Tattered Angels mists, and lots of Scrap Fx goodies!

This months release is full of fun new stencil designs and the adorable "midi" wordlets!
Seriously...when I first saw the new release I almost cried tears of joy!!!!
Ok, maybe no tears, but I was a little overly giddy and kept showing different members of my family including my kids...and none of them care...not even a little! lol
They really are awesome stencils though, and I love every single one!

You know what else I love???  CANVAS CORP!  I have just been introduced to canvas corp very recently, and let me tell you...they are a mixed media artists DREAM!!!   They have sheets of canvas, denim, burlap (with different colors and styles) and CORK!!!  Can you imagine the possibilities?  Even the regular card stock is amazing.  I've used the black and cream line here and I'm amazed at how well it takes misting and the warping is very minimal...almost non existent.

Here you can see where I've been practicing paper layering.  This isn't something I'm very good at yet, but I'm getting better!

Here's my proof of heat embossing.  Sometimes I just like to randomly emboss my page for a little extra distressing...

    Scrap Fx products used:

    other products:
Canvas corp Artsy Sampler on Kraft
Canvas Corp black and ivory pad

    So how about it?
Come over to Scrap Fx and join us for this fun challenge.
Its a great chance to win more Scrap Fx goodies and we would love to see what you create!  You can link up your project to the Scrap Fx Facebook Page by the end of next month for a chance to win!
