    AppImage has one significant advantage though. To use Snap or Flatpak you need to have Snap or Flatpak installed. And you can use AppImage without any specific pre-requirements other than what any modern distribution should have installed already (libc6, X server, ALSA and PA).

    Ok so after seeing 30-something notifications, I now realize that the prime advantage that AppImage has over the alternatives is portability - you don't need to install a runtime (Flatpak, Snap, etc) to use an AppImage app. That's pretty cool 👍
