hey bloggers! hope your week is going great. things have been going non-stop since i have arrived here at ranger. the flight here was fine, nothing major, and gave me a little time for a much needed nap – i love sleeping on planes (or anywhere else for that matter – i love sleep!). been busy with meetings after meetings, testing products, discussing new products (oh the things we’re working on!), and planning our events for 2009. it’s hard to believe we already have to start planning for next year when this one is just over half way through? guess it’s better to plan ahead…
we’ve also been working on processing all of the wonderful and talented applications from many of you to attend Ranger U in october. well i am happy to say we have selected a great group for the october session. the unfortunate thing as always, is that we can’t fit everyone we want to have attend. it’s a tough process and decision to make, but i am hopeful that most of them will re-apply for 2009. it’s such a great event, but with only 24 seats available it fills up fast as you can imagine.
so tonight several of us "ranger" folks went to suze & lenny’s house for bbq. it was great that they invited us and a fun time was had by all (check out suze’s blog for a photo). what an amazing home they have – filled with art from their many travels around the world – simply inspiring! tomorrow suze and i are going to finalize her curriculum for Ranger U – she has lots of great things planned to teach so we’re going to figure out how to fit it all in.
so, that’s the past 2 days of events – so far so good, but still so much to do before friday. it’s all good…t!m

Sounds like you’re having a wonderful time!! It’s always nice when you have the opportunity to mix work with fun… Can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you come up with. Have a wonderful week…
Thanks,

wow, second to comment 🙂 Usually I’m lost in the masses!
Glad to hear you’re having fun at Ranger… I’m hoping to apply for next year for a refresher and do the melt art etc.
Oh and the chicken whatever that was at Applebees!! LOL. Or Barnacles? Am I right? I should have taken photos. I remember better that way!
OK, I’ve rambled on enough I bet I’m no longer second, but lost in the masses!
Bye!
Mmmm… BBQ certainly caught my eye 🙂 Can’t wait to see the new products!
Can you imagine the creative energy at that BBQ?!!
I’m still stuck on you sleeping on the plane… I’m afraid to sleep anywhere that’s not my bed! Don’t you ever get a creepy feeling that someone is watching you! I’m always worried about drool YUCK… I’d rather watch the people like you who are comfortable sleeping on the plane and ponder why on EARTH you’re that comfortable! Especially with your knees rubbing on the seat in front of you! (Unless of course you fly first class. Then I’ll just be jealous.)
🙂
Have fun!
Hey Tim! Saw the picture on Suze’s blog. I also saw what she did with the silicone pot holder. Where do you guys come up with these ideas? Sounds like there are a lot of great things coming from Ranger. Continue to have fun!
Hey Tim,
Sounds like you and all the gang at Ranger are in the “high” of creativity. Oh how I wish I were part of that team. Even as a guest for a week. Or even a day!! Just to watch and absorb all the creativity flying around. I could even be invisible.
OK, no more dreaming.
Have a safe, fun filled remainder of your time with Ranger. I have loved their products since you showed them to me all those years ago.
I still need to find the new pigment inks. All in good time.
Love, Liz

Sounds like you’re crazy busy, but atleast its with your friends. And the best is all the inspiration around you. Checked out Suze’s blog, she’s funny, love the placemat thing she made. very cool

i imagine the brainstorming at that bbq !!
i’m glad to read that you doget some sleep from time to time LOL impatient to see new stuff !!take care,

Don’t work too hard! Maybe Ranger U would be a good goal for me to work towards…
Looks like fun, but, somehow, Ranger just doesn’t seem like Ranger without Robin Beam there. I think she almost always went by the nickname “Ranger Robin” from the first time I met her (around 2002 or 2003, I think). I hope she’s doing okay. She hasn’t posted much on her blog lately.

HI there Tim,
Wish I was a fly on the wall, bzzing around sapping in all the information , techniques, artisitic genius at work. Sometimes you come away from a gathering, indeed of any sort but particularly with people who enjoy being creative and the ideas just bounce off each other, if only you could bottle that! Well maybe you do as I am always excited with your products.Mixing all that with food and red wine, My kinda job!! xxx cococuddlesxx

One of these days I’m going to finish my application to Ranger U and get it in before the deadline. Don’t you and your staff know I WANT To come but I’m much to scattered to pull it all together??
*sigh*
Keep on blogging T!m!
What fun!!!! And that’s a very nice pic on Suze’s blog. Some day I hope to apply AND attend a Ranger U.
