i hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures of cooper – they make me smile! many of you have been asking me where you can find certain products that i talk about or show on my blog. well, my FIRST suggestion is to always shop at your local stamp or scrapbook store. i can’t stress enough about the importance of supporting your local stores – they are the heart and soul of the industry and provide samples, workshops, and education on products.
i do understand however, that not everyone has a store like this in your area. maybe you’re out of the country, maybe your store doesn’t carry what you’re looking for and many of you have asked where to buy on-line. although there are many on-line places you can go – a simple google search can often do the trick, i wanted to share with you that scrapbook.com has offered to carry whatever products i talk about on the blog – (whatever they don’t have, they’re working on getting it in). simply click the button on the right side of my blog to search for products and shop right from my blog! how cool is this? so if you want, check them out – they carry tons of stuff! (like we need any more reasons to shop – right???)…have fun -t!m

Nice plug for the LSS’s! I did my part last night and picked up some grungeboard at Archivers. Can’t wait to have some time to play with it. I love how it takes ink. Jill
So true! Most of our local stamping stores have closed, LSS stock a little bit of stamping gear but it’s hard to find much, and even they seem to be closing up too. I do love the convenience of the internet, but I try to support local specialty stores so we don’t lose them.
Tim,
Thanks for plugging the local scrapbook stores. I feel so lucky that we have a good one in town. It’s called Luna’s Memories in Half Moon Bay, CA. They carry lots of your/Ranger products, partly cuz I teach classes using your stuff and partly cuz they met you/took some classes from you, and, well, who can resist you & your products once you’ve served them the kool-aid, um, I mean showed them some techniques?
Rinda
Thanks for saying that about local stores. They wont stay open if you don’t visit them so try them first. We are down to only a few stores and one is going more and more toward scrapbooking everyday.
That is great news! I live near Oklahoma City and you’d think I could find a good supplier but most stores only carry a few items from each company. I buy most everything online but still haven’t found a good source. Thanks again.
Thanks for the Heads up Tim!! I do like to shop my Local LSS unfortunately they don’t seem to have their finger on the pulse of the industry…so sometimes I need a helping hand.
Take care!

Thank you for sharing your info Tim and for bringing home the importance of supporting your local craft stores. The internet is a fantastic place and opens up the whole world to us but it’s no good when you’ve just run out of your favourite product and you’ve got to have more NOW! Then where would we be without our local store. It’s exactly the same in the UK! I work for a rubber stamp manufacturer and craft store in England and I’m on vacation at the moment but as I just have to have more of your fab crackle paints – I’m off to work tomorrow to buy more…. I mean – to support my local store!!!
I so wish I had an easily accessible scrapbook store. You’d think there would be a good one here in the bay area, but actually, I have to go all the way to Sacramento. Thanks for the information on where to get “stuffs” because I love stuffs!
hi Tim
I am so glad to hear you motivating people to visit their local shops. In Belgium, scrapbookshops are not so well-known and they are not with many, as Belgium is only about to discover this addicting hobby! It sometimes makes me mad to hear fellowscrappers in Belgium talking about their 2hour-long ride to a scrapstore in the Netherlands, to get the same products they could buy in Belgium, just a few minutes away from their homes!!!
Since I’ve found my little piece of heaven nearby, I got a bit lazy and so I’ll wait patiently ’till the owners Wendy and Bruno get some more stuff from you (they already have your distressinks-and powders and cracklepaint!!). They do so their best to encourage people to take up this exciting craft that I like to think I contribute to their goal, by buying most of my stuff in their shop: it helps them to get even more stash as I help to get space in their little shop.
so, YES to local stores that do efforts to encourage and challenge us, creative souls!!!
Dear Tim,
Thank you for reminding people to check their local stores first. We are in an area blessed with many craft and scrapbook stores.
I run an online scrapbook/stamp store and we hear all time from folks who tell me their local stores all closed down. Of course, we specialize in mail order, so our market is not the local customers, but rather customers from all over the world.
Scrapbook.com is a wonderful online retailer. I’d like to also invite folks to visit OUR online store (www.franticstamper.com) where they can find almost all your products as well as thousands of others.
Thank you again for doing the 12 tags of Christmas. It sure has boosted our business quite a bit! But most of all, the inspiration you provided with all the beautiful projects was the best present you could have given us.
Lots of love and happiness in 2008. We’ll see ya at CHA!

So glad to hear that your stuff is available online, I will check into that site. Living in CA you’d think I have lots of lss to choose from, not! I heard one will be getting GB in. The closest one that does carry most of your/Ranger products is in Berkeley, about 2 hrs away. So if my lss would carry the good stuff I’d be all over it. As it is I have to pick up one thing here and another elsewhere. The point is I am picking them up. 😉
I am totally ok with you, but here, I have not the chance of having a local store, and the one which is far from my house does not have all the products I want : even distress ink, you imagine !!! So I am happy to have on-line stores : even if the cost of shipping is very high sometimes. Thank you for reading us everytime…

Tim,
just wanted to say thanks again for the xmas tag project. I knew I wanted to create something special to store/display them in so when we had 13 inches of snow this past weekend i got a tray full of snacks, went up to my stamp room, and left instructions that I was not to be bothered. I ended up creating a book that has a color print out of your tag on the left side and my version of the tag on the right. Im not done making all of the tags yet but at least now I have a great way to display them.
you gave us a wonderful gift with that project. it was like taking a free class with you!! so now, next to my Windows in Time, Layered Illusions, my mini-license plate necklace, and a few other projects I made in your classes, stands my 12 Tags of Xmas book.
thanks so much!
Derek
thanks again for the the tags and the link to buy…since I have twin 3 year old punks…I don’t get time very often to peruse the LSS although I love them dearly..maybe when the punks reach 8! Merry Christms…Deidre
Wonderful post! Love having access outside of my little bubble here in the wild west…
You are so right. I love going to my LLS and lucky for me I have 3 excellent ones very close to my house plus several others not too far away. I do so enjoy visiting each one of them and visiting with their friendly staffs.
I’m truly blessed that I have 5 very phenominal and over the top cool scrapbook shops within an hour of my home that I visit entirely too often. I most assuredly do my part to keep everyone in business and lets not forget the backyard stores like Joannes and Michaels. God bless those coupons!!
Tim – you keep the ideas coming and we’ll keep everyone in business!!

One of our local stores carry your products, but they sell out quick! Good for you, means you are a popular guy. I appreciate the fact that you really use the items and make sure they are among the best before you put your name on them. It reduces the guess work for me! I haven’t completed all of the tags yet because I am still searching for supplies, but I can’t wait to display them all!
Thanks again,
Shermala
Thanks Tim for plugging the LSS – we have had many customers come to us with a list of the products you used on your tags and we are happy to say we had them all!! It is really great to see that you not only use the products but love them too! Thanks again and happy holidays to you.
