Senior Pastor- United Church of Chapel Hill (UCCH) is a United Church of Christ congregation. We are seeking a senior pastor to provide inspirational leadership in worship and outreach, oversee operations, and lead 17 staff and a congregation of 955 members. Our congregation is from diverse backgrounds and religious traditions, but all are attracted to our passion for biblical truth, social justice, and caring for God’s creation. Beyond Walls (July 9 - July 15), a one-week writing intensive, helps you become a more authentic and skilled writer and reach your congregation and seekers and believers online. Learn to use the blog, op-ed, social media and more in small group sessions led by today’s most respected spiritual writers and journalists. Morning seminars are followed by afternoon solo writing time, master classes, and writing groups, plus a daily social media workshop. Our multi-faith mission welcomes clergy, spiritual directors, seminary students, and all who use writing in their spiritual work.

Joseph's House is a Residential Program in DC, providing hospice care to low income adults; some dying and some healing from AIDS and Cancer. They need a full-time, year-long intern, starting in the fall. This organization provides daily compassionate presence to their residents, including trans individuals. Discipleship Year places interns in DC in service and justice ministries, addressing poverty and injustice. Interns live in Intentional Community within a Christian Context, studying and reflecting through classes at the Soteria Community School @ the Festival Center. BVS seeks persons willing to act on their commitment and values. We challenge individuals to offer themselves, their time, and their talents for work that is both demanding and rewarding. Volunteers receive room, board, medical insurance, transportation to project, and a monthly allowance of $100-$150. In most cases, educational loans may be deferred. Depending on the project, volunteers may live alone, with a family, or in a group situation. Each volunteer must bring a willingness to serve. Working towards peace and justice, and meeting the needs of humanity and the environment calls out for persons dedicated to service.
