Carriers of Faith- August

For our August post, our hostess is April. The Carriers of Faith is a blogging group on Splitcoaststampers.com. We chat, inspire and support each other. We have a monthly post with a specific theme for the month.

April's words: Since we post the day after my wedding anniversary, I would like everyone to make a project based on one of the scriptures read at my wedding:
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Your card doesn't need to be based on a spousal love, and as such, I would love to hear a story of one of your loves!

I have to say I am truly Blessed with my husband. When we first met, we did not like each other...at all.....!  We had many mutual friends and bumped into each other often. We grew on each other over time. We had many similar life philosophies, and also were both the same religion- which I am very Thankful for. He is not into Drama at all- and lets stuff roll off his back. We rarely fight at all. (We have a '51-49 policy'....whoever has really strong feelings about something is '51' usually). We give it up to God and try to communicate our feelings in a loving way, most of the time, and make concessions with each other.
We have raised our three children with Church being part of our routine and did our best to teach them the fundamentals of a Faithful Christian lifestyle.  I do hope when they make choices they use those Christian ideals as the basis of their decisions : )  If they take a vacation from their faith, I will pray like St Monica......

I found this beautiful image at Sweet Stamps- the scripture is part of the stamp set as is the LOVE sentiment up at the top of the Lt side.  I colored with Copics: 0, BG0000, C1, C3, C5, V22, V25, V28, G94, G99Y21, Y23, Y26, Y28, E35
I don't know about you, but I pick the paper 1st, then match the markers to the paper. The DP is Prima 6x6, the flowers and pearls are also from Sweet Stamps. I fussy cut the image and popped it up on dimensionals.

*** The Carriers of Faith list is on my sidebar- please hop around and see more beautiful projects and thoughts on April's scripture choice.  Oh- and Happy Anniversary April!!!

May 'Carriers Of Faith' Blog Hop

We are a group of ladies that chat and papercraft, and have another common bond- we are all Christians.  We have a monthly themed Blog Hop : )

Kelly is our Blog Hop Hostess- our May Theme: : Tell your story!

Scripture: "Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe..." ~ Psalm 107:2

This is one of my favorite times of year, celebrating this time of Christ's resurrection! On Easter morning when the tomb was empty, the gift to all of us was the assurance that we will live again and be given eternally glory. As Christians, of course, we hope to know Christ and accept him as our Savior and share the gospel with friends, family, those we fellowship with. Truly when God died on that cross for you, for me, for all of us, he paid the price for us to worship at his feet and redeem ourselves.

On this hop today, we all unite to share our creations with you as well as a letter on each stop of the way. *Please remember the letter on your host's blog and at the end ( Kelly ) will ask you to write the word from all the letters in order*! What's more fun, there is a prize for one lucky winner which will be given at random from all those leaving the Guess the Word comment! ♥ Blessings to each of you! ♥

My Letter Is E

Easter is a time for renewal- it is a time of year where I feel on fire- full of the Holy Spirit! I am blessed to have a Father that was just 3 months shy of being a priest, and a very faithful Mother too.  My Dad was a Catholic hospital administrator, so we were always surrounded by religious people at home and when we were out and about.  My parents sacrificed to send all 7 of the kids in my family to Catholic schools as well.

I also have a fabulous Godmother- who spent alot of time and effort passing on the faith to me! So, for my Blog Hop Project, I decided to make her cards she can send out to friends.  My Aunt Patty is 89 and lives in assisted living. She is also on a fixed income and focuses on living a simple life.

My cards are CAS reflecting how my Aunt lives a simple life- with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as the focus. Also, so she can mail them without additional postage : )  I also used flowers as the focus on the cards- reflecting on the season of renewal and spiritual growth that occurs during the Easter Season and beyond!  With my wonderful allergies- flowers on cards are the best way for me to enjoy them........

All God's Children

"All God's Children" is the theme of a Blog Hop today, hosted by The Carriers of Faith. We are a blogging group over at SCS.

"And Jesus took a child and put him in this midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me. " ~Mark 9:36-37

Children find their joy in simplicity, as in the scene above. They can spend the entire day finding bugs under rocks or scattering seeds. When I think of children, I also think of their innocence and pure Love.

I was fortunate to grow up in a very faith-filled family with 2 sisters and 4 brothers. We spent hours outdoors finding joy and entertainment in finding bugs, swimming and fishing and playing baseball. We would get refrigerator boxes and roll down the hill of the 1st riverbank......

My card uses a digi image by Nicecrane Deisgns that I found through a Facebook group called Christian Cardmakers around the world. The digi sentiment is from Create with TLC. The background I learned in the latest Technique Junkies newsletter called Stencil Spray fun.
