So this is the something I hear all of the time... “I don’t have the time to exercise and even if I did, my schedule is so weird that I can’t eat right.” I completely understand your dilemma. It’s true…. We really have to sit down and figure it out. I want people to be healthy but the reality is society fights us on it every step of the way. I can throw out ideas as to why... but they are more of a conspiracy theory than anything else. We have to make a conscious decision, just like everything else in our lives that are important. For example, our significant other, family or financial decisions. These are all things that are dear to each of us. Why is it that our health gets put last? If we do not take care of ourselves no one else will. Then we will not be around long enough to take care of the things/people that matter to us the most. Let’s take charge and set the example. Lets sit down and figure out what options are available to us. I want to see all people succeed in their health/fitness goals. Oh here is a fun one… exercise SLOWS down the AGING process! Now THAT is pretty cool if you ask me. It keeps us mobile longer! There are so many more benefits…..
Ok, I want to talk about fast food options. We all get in a bind at times. We may be traveling or busy with work. What do we do then? Lets see, here are a few places you can go that can be considered a “healthier” option.
Beau Hindman of Massively.com and other Internet fame(he really gets around) held his latest Gamer Hangout video-podcast via Google Hangouts. Yet again he gave me the pleasure of appearing on the podcast to interrupt, look awkward and generally make editing nye impossible.
In this, the latest episode of the bi-weekly show, we discuss PC hardware. If anyone's been curious what specifications my PC has, this is the episode to tune in to. GameGeex' writer Aimee Jarboe and Split Infinity Radio's Christina Carkner also join us to talk about what games we've been playing. And Beau shows us his pirate stickers.
Dear Unhappy Former Self,
At lot has changed since we parted ways…
The basic differences are easy to point out. First and foremost, I am in a lot better shape than you. I am about 60 pounds lighter and a whole lot more agile and flexible. Whereas, you got winded after a 50 ft dash to answer the phone, I can now maintain a dead sprint for half a mile at sea level without losing my breath. It might seem hard to believe but I also heal faster than you. Injuries and bruises are gone sooner for me than they are for you. The world reacts in better ways to my presence than it does to yours. When people give me a double take, it is no longer to make sure I am not trying to sneak candy into a movie theater.
I also feel a whole lot better than you. I sleep less hours but feel more rested. I have more energy but eat less sugar. My mind feels sharper but I take no medications. I am better at doing mental math, remembering names and communicating my ideas. I have improved focus, stamina and discipline. You have cheap beer and even cheaper promises.
For years I've been pondering what could be the key to living a happier, more fulfilled life. Today, I think I have the answer.
Forget about money, fame, fancy cars, relationships, exercise, family, traveling, new experiences or even good health. Because none of that matters if you don't know how to appreciate it.
Today is my Mom's birthday, to show my appreciation I'm dedicating this post to some of the reasons why she's the greatest.
She teached me to wright good. Growing up as the son of a writer and journalist gave me the advantage of having an awesome editor for all of my papers. Still today I don't never make grammatical errors when I write. It's a major advantage now that I'm back in college. (It's also a serious advantage that I can still email her my papers and she'll edit them for me.) Thanks Mom!
She helped pay for my trip to South America in 2011 and helped me fly to France last summer. My travels overseas have been some of the most life-changing experiences I've had so far. Each trip has helped me grow and increase my adaptability. I believe that the greatest gifts we can give are experiences, and he has helped me create unique adventures in my life. Thanks Mom!
Everyone thinks I look like her, and damn do we look good! Thanks Mom!
I'm not sure about you but I love the medicine commercials now. With all of the regulatory requirements placed on the pharmaceutical industry, 75% of those commercials are spent informing the potential consumer of all of the side-effects that could happen as a result of taking the medicine. Everything from blood in your urine to constipation to dry mouth or mood swings. I find myself being more intrigued with the side effects and forgetting what the medication is actually supposed to treat! So, in honor of that tradition, let's assume Busiocrityis a virus.... indulge me for a bit.
Busiocrity, a virus that is plaguing offices internationally. Common symptoms:
Sound familiar? If so, you might be suffering from this common virus. Constant emails and meetings that produce no results are becoming an epidemic in today's workplace. As humans, we have evolved from spending our days toiling the land or chasing our food to toiling in meetings and chasing productivity. What's worse is that there seems to be no end in sight for this plague. There are, however, some individuals who have escaped this Zombie virus to rise above the mess. What do they do? Let's take a look:
What does a “Twitter” and “People” Chrome Extension have to do with "expats", "personal assistance" and "international health insurance"? On first sight nothing. And maybe there is no connection all all except for the fact that my brain desperately wants to see them.
Before starting mon.ki I was happily working “non profit” rebuilding First Tuesday in Latin America. It was the best job I ever had. Go to some country in Central America, surf a few days, do a key note, have a few cold Coronas with smart entrepreneurs and top it off with an interesting lunch with some big wig minister of some screwed up economy. Yes, there was always the nagging itch to get back into the ring but the cold water of Punta de Lobos would soothe that just fine.
Soothing big time in Punta de Lobos
Then the itch met the pain.
It was with more than enough skepticism, worry and fear, that I went on my first organized group trip. I’ve never hesitated to hire local guides, but I’ve always chosen to travel solo or with friends/family with a flexible itinerary and open mind. So why, might you ask, did I choose to go with a group of strangers to Patagonia? Hopefully, though the cathartic experience of writing this blog, I might just discover the answer myself.
Here’s some obvious reasons WHY:
- Though I had plenty of friends that wanted to go with me to share experiences and costs, none could make the commitment, and I couldn’t wait. So it became a solo or group decision.
Sagging has become arguably the longest lasting as well as continuous growing trend among our youth dating back to the early 90’s. Since its origin all the way up to present date and time sagging has been opposed. Mainly the opposition is directed towards young people (although older men sagging is not an exclusion) and the opposition is normally orchestrated by adults (although there are a large number of youth against sagging as well).
Today I am here to look at the Opposition to Sagging a new way.
Why do the majority of people oppose sagging so much? Most people answer that question by stating
The recruitment process is immediately followed by the selection process i.e. the final interviews and the decision making, conveying the decision and the appointment formalities.
The above mentioned recruitment process is automated, using the HRMS application HAPA (Human resources And People Appreciation). Here, the Candidate Bank Management feature allows the recruitment team to upload and save the resumes of applicants. These applicants, using HAPA, can be assigned various rounds of interviews with an option of selection/rejection (with feedback/comments/reasons) in each round.
In HAPA, once the candidate gets hired, and after the CTC is approved by the authority, the offer /appointment letter is automatically emailed to the candidate. Also, with an option of taking a print-out, if required.
