Hand Pieced Hexagons Have Found A Way Back Into My Heart and My Day.

Picking up a project that was started, I'm embarrassed to say, "over two years ago". But, I am excited to be working on it again. I love hand pieced hexagons. So here's where I am at this moment . . .

Fun Fall Project - Scrap-bags Tangletown Tote Bag

If you follow me on social media you will know that I love fall! Check out my Instagram feed if you don't believe me. You'll see my inspiration photos and the work that was inspired by it.

One of my favorite fall projects is the Scrap-bags Tangletown Tote Bag. It's a beautiful finished project and perfect for gift giving. It's most stunning when using high contrasting fabrics. I love paring black with a beautiful fall batik. Well, it's Saturday today, so I am heading to the dog park with my dog Axel and then perhaps I'll sit down with my own sewing machine and immerse myself in this fun fall project. Enjoy your day too!

Textile Design Inspiration Provided by My Favorite Season.

Do you wonder about an artist's source of inspiration? My favorite way to replenish my idea bank is to immerse myself in nature. Just get out there and "sit with it". It's magical and it seeps into my inner-being without effort. Then later in the studio it makes itself known on paper or canvas or what every artistic medium is being employed.

As soon as I publish this post I'm heading outdoors and I really hope you'll find some "nature time" in your day today too!

Make & Sell Scrap-bags Purses

It's been a number of years since I discontinued selling my Scrap-bags Patterns wholesale. Yes, they are still available online.

But, here is the big news. I have designed fabrics specifically for Scrap-bags, starting with the Yin-Yang bag. This fabric will be digitally printed by one or more companies and drop-shipped directly to you.

In a few weeks I will be releasing the first three prints. They are mixed in with the twelve shown below. Which ones? To receive this info you must be on the mailing list. You will received the fabric release info along with the link to purchase the fabric via these emails.

The Make & Sell will be easy, (my attorney is working on the details) but essentially if you purchase the fabric from one of my approved printers and follow the sewing pattern with no changes or alterations, etc. You will be granted permission to sell. You can stitch and embellish all you like.

After you've signed up for the mailing list I invite you to join my Facebook group called "Scrap-bags Makers". This FB group is for makers and sellers of Scrap-bags. (You can still join if you don't sell). It's is a place you can ask questions and support each other about the making and selling of bags made from Scrap-bags patterns. It's a place to share your insights and tips about selling at craft fairs, Etsy etc. There are more details on the site. Here is the link! Oh and you might even get to vote on which designs are released next!

I'm Teaming Up With A Digital Printer

For a while now, I've been asking myself, "How can I serve you my Scrap-bags customers better"? I think I've hit on something that is a win-win for both of us. It might even put a little $$ in both of our pockets! See what I mean? Win-win.

Here is how it will work:

1. I am teaming up with a digital printer. This means I can design artwork specifically for one of my Scrap-bags. 
2. I'll send out an email to you when a new design is ready. You can sign up for Scrap-bags emails here.
3. After receiving the email, if you like what you see you can order the fabric online and the printer will ship it to you directly! You will still need to purchase the sewing instructions from me if you haven't already. 

Easy as that!

Best of all, I am consulting with my IP attorney so that by purchasing the pre-designed fabrics you will have permission to sell the bags after you make them.

I hope you are as excited about this as I am!

It's been way too long but I've been working hard and I have some exciting news for my Scrap-bags friends! I can't do the big reveal just yet.
