Environmental Governance and Climate Change
Although Africa is not a major contributor to global warming, it is set to be hardest hit by climate change. Africans are already experiencing unprecedented droughts, water stress and flooding that have led to a reduction in crop yields and livestock productivity, affecting the livelihoods of thousands of farmers. As part of its core mandates, the NEPAD Agency aims to strengthen and upscale the ability of member states to integrate climate change and sustainable development actions into national development processes.
