In 2007, I founded Naturally Ella as I began my journey to good health. Since that time, the site has grown into a large resource for natural cooking and vegetarian recipes. Whether you know every vegetable by name, or just want to find out what a legume is, Naturally Ella is the place for you.
Naturally Ella answers the question we all ask ourselves everyday: “What’s for dinner?” It’s also the answer to every question you’ve ever had about substituting an ingredient, making your own pantry items, cooking grains (of all kinds), shopping for produce —and much, much more.
When it comes to living naturally, it’s all about finding what works for you and your family. The site has three primary areas to help guide:
Cook a Meal: The place to find a recipe for breakfast, lunch, or dinner based on the type of recipe and/or by ingredients you have on hand.
Explore an Ingredient: Packed full of information and recipes about fruits, vegetables, and greens. Your guide to buying, storing, and using all fresh produce.
Build a Pantry: Make sure you’re well stocked with the recipe ingredients, or find new ways to use up those one-off ingredients in your pantry.
About Erin

I am a firm believer in two food movement principles: every purchase holds power in the food system and change starts in your own kitchen. By making time and bringing back cooking, we have the power to change our relationship with overly processed foods.
I grew up on fast food, was overweight for my entire youth, and watched my father suffer from a heart attack. I had a wake-up call during my college years and since then, my passion has been learning and sharing knowledge to empower others to cook.
With a sensible diet and exercise, I got myself down to a reasonable weight. I’m determined not to count calories. I exercise regularly and eat what I want. I try not to be obsessive about it- there’s just no point. (You can read more about this.)
Thank you for visiting the site. I love to hear from readers! Please leave a comment, send me an email, or find me on social media. And if you make a recipe-let me know how it turns out or snap a picture, share it on Instagram, and tag it #naturallyella.!

your birthday…first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I, personally believe birthdays should be celebrated and it is very important for me to make sure other’s birthdays are celebrated fully. To answer your question, my favorite cake is the special request or the complete surprise I make for someone for their special day. As long as I have a recipe, the sky’s the limit.
Happy Birthday!
So, I just read the long version of your about me. And I had the exact same surgery when I was 17. Except my benign tumor was the size of a softball, not a football. And the darn thing wiped out my left ovary. I mean, having a giant tumor wasn’t enough? 😉
Just found your blog via Eat Boutique and I will definitely be adding it to my Google reader! I love your slogan, “Live Natural, Be Healthy, Eat Delicious;” it’s perfect!
I totally agree with you on number 9. It’s such a horrible necessary evil!
beautiful site! And I’m with you on the Colorado thing. We left Seattle for the Boulder area in 2010 and absolutely LOVE it here!
Just discovered you recently (though now I forget from who/where) and I’m in love with everything you stand for! Also props to a fellow (post) grad student and musician foodie!
Hi Erin, I found your site when I was looking for vegetarian recipes. It’s great to see another double reed food blogger. I’m an oboist, and I find blogging to be a great distraction from making reeds! 🙂
Glad I visited your site! I’ve just come over from Emmadime’s. Love your about me.. My first thought was that I have a brother that is on the market 😉 hehe and as I read on, I totally agree with what you say about social media. For that reason I just got my husband to hide my Ipod (the way I used twitter, facebook, instagram etc as I don’t have a smart phone due to my clumsiness 😉 and am trying to fight the urge to go find it to check in! I’m in the process of changing up my blog (and life) to be more wholesome and natural… I’ve been a vegetarian all my life and love it. Can’t wait to cook some of your recipes 🙂
Erin! I love your blog, I do not remember how I exactly stumbled upon it, but I am so glad I did; it is a real gem. You (or your blog) have become a kitchen staple as of recent, and I continue to be inspired, so thank you!
Hi Erin!! I loved your videos on Vimeo and cant wait until you post more:) I was wondering what music it is that you play in your videos. There is one girl that sings and I really like it but could not find out who she is. Thanks!
You have a wonderful blog that resonates with many of the values and beliefs and ideas (so forth) I have. I’m considering becoming a teacher (applying to graduate school right now) and it is lovely to see how your life unfolds. Beautiful photography, real life, and delicious food? I’m in.
I’ve got a blog that I”m considering revamping, but I’m just culling inspiration from people I feel blog from the heart, not for what others think. You may be competitive, but I don’t see you people pleasing at all! Keep up the wonderful work,
Hannah
your blog is wonderful, i often use your recipes! And congratulations on getting married next year 🙂 x
absolutely love your blog- recipes are clearly inspired and unique. thank you.
Thank you, Elana!
Hi Erin, Your site has proven a real God sent. After gaining 40 pounds in the last 4 years I knew something had to change so I moved to a more whole foods diet. With the change in diet and exercise I’ve lost about 35 pounds, but growing increasingly tired of raw veggies and beans by themselves. My moms idea of a recipe growing up was adding a pound of beef to hamburger helper. I think it’s safe to say cooking isn’t in my blood. That’s why I was so excited to find so many great resources and recipes on your site. You’re cooking with all the stuff I’ve been buying but just didn’t know how to put together. Thanks for sharing your talent and love for food with us all!
Thanks,
Chris
p.s. If you’re still looking for a wedding photographer my wife and I do wedding photography together and love it when we get to work with like minded people! chrisandjennphotos.com
p.s. p.s. Just read you grew up in central Illinois. That’s awesome! I grew up in Decatur. The only things I miss is open space, my family, and secretly the sweet smells of processed soybeans.
Chris- so sorry I missed this comment! That’s so wonderful to hear about your switch/weight loss (and I’m happy I could help you move into more than just veggies/beans!) I also have to admit, it’s going to be strange being away this summer and not smelling the soybeans 🙂 Hope all is well with you!
HI Erin, I agree with your statement about depression and social media. I am trying to limit myself to spending time on the computer. I do not have Facebook, twitter etc. but i am a internet junkie and hope to spend less and less time on some useless sites.
Thanks for keeping it real. Stay well!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!
Love you’re list! I relate with so much of this! I vow to never calorie count but eat well, fresh, and flavorful foods with the occasional (or sometimes more than occasional) splurge. I also try and exercise often though you won’t see me talking about it much, I do it to get it over with much of the time, unless its hiking, biking or skiing! And I couldn’t agree more about social media… I’m such a huge fan of being face to face with someone and actually getting to know them, preferably over a meal of cup of coffee. So, I’m so glad we had a little of that so we can continue our friendship online!
Wow..wonderfully put!I really love this line ‘I truly believe that I think we miss living the best moments because we are too busy trying to document them.’
It has been a pleasure looking through your Blog. I am a Chef living in Michigan right now, but I graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Denver. I am a Head Chef at a University that only serves Vegan and Vegetarian Food. I often look at your creations for ideas and inspiration. You photography is fantastic. Thank you
Thank u I loved ur vegetarian recipes 🙂
What an exciting new place to check out for recipes and just to read. Thanks! Can’t wait to get started on some. The gals will enjoy Bunko this month!
I LOVE your site! You have been such a blessing to my family, who have started on a GF diet. Thank you so much! I’m glad your moving to CA ~ What area are moving to?
Why thank you! I’ll be moving to the Sacramento area (and am super excited!)
I came across your site via Pinterest. I made one of your salads tonight and pinned a few others. You have great food and really love your unique recipes! Thanks so much!
I’m so happy that I came across your site. I can’t wait to try out some of your delicious looking recipes. I strongly believe in eating healthy, whole foods with the occasional indulgence, like your brown butter chocolate chip cookies. Yum!
I see you’re moving to Sacramento! It’s a great town that feels both big and small at the same time. I just got married myself and live in East Sacramento. I hope you like it here!
Megan- just saw this comment so I apologize for the late response. I just got back from house hunting and I’ve fallen in love with Sacramento- I definitely get that big/small vibe!
I just came across your site yesterday and am HOOKED! Thank you for the stunning photographs and beatiful food inspiration 🙂
Aww- thanks Lauren!
Hi Erin. I found you through a delicious looking recipe on Pinterest. Your pictures are beautiful and all the recipes I’ve browsed through so far look really flavorful and healthy. I’ve been trying to mostly eliminate processed foods from my diet and get into more bulk grains and fruits and veggies….so I’m excited to bookmark your site and try some recipes 🙂 Thanks…have a great move to Cali!
Thank you, Lara! (and sorry for the delayed response- I missed a bunch of comments on this page!)
I make breakfasts for my girlfriend on the weekends and was running out of unique/good ideas. Did two of your breakfasts last week and my gf has since found your site and added a couple more of your recipes to her request list. Thanks for making my life a little easier and my breakfasts a little more adventurous!
Yay! I’m so glad I could help you get out of a breakfast rut!
What a clean, fresh blog! very well done, with great recipes to boot!
Thank you!
Hi Erin. My daughter forwarded your vegie taco recipe – we TRY to avoid meat but I still make it occassionally for my husband and I eat organic chicken and fish. I live in California and my family lives near Sacramento – you will love it there! Hopefully, you can live outside the city in the foothills – must go to Amador County for wine tasting sometime and visit Sutter Creek.
I don’t usually write bloggers but you seem like a wonderful real person and I am enjoying lots of your recipes! Wish you all the very best life has to offer!
I agree! She seems like one of the most genuine and humble bloggers I’ve come across 🙂 I love this blog! Happy I found it.
Aww, thank you Jackie!
Michie, I missed your comment so I apologize for the late response! Thank you so much and I’m really excited to be out in California. I’ll definitely check them both out- I’ve got a list going!
I stumbled upon your blog the other day as I’m switching my diet to embrace the vegetarian lifestlye. Your recipes look delicious and I cannot wait to try some of them. Thank you!
Awesome! Let me know if you have any questions!
LOVE LOVE what you are doing! You are so very talented and I cannot wait to share your blog on mine 🙂 PLUS dying over the breakfast 🙂
Thank you for such kind words, Lauren!
I just found your blog – the recipes look wonderful – can’t wait to try some. Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
Thank you, Tiffany!
this is fantastic, thanks for sharing your talents.
Thank you, Rosie!
Saw your avocado jalapeño grilled cheese on Pinterest! Cooked it and it was AMAZING!! I commend you and your family for making such a huge lifestyle change and look forward to reading more from you and enjoying more recipes! Thank you!
Thank you, Sarah and I’m so glad you loved the grilled cheese!
love what you say about social media, i totally agree.
I just found you, and I think that I’m in love! Erin, your blog is beautiful and the food is delicious (I’ve already made two recipes). Reading your ‘about’ was great, it’s a story that really resonate with me.
Thank you for sharing!
Hooray! Thank you for stopping by and saying “hi”, Laura!
Just stumbled upon your blog. What a beauty! I am a green, clean blogger as well. Learning a lot from bloggers like you!
Thank you and awesome! I think the more people share clean recipes and make healthy eating accesible, the better!
Hi Erin, I came across your blog via the Kitchn. Why Naturally Ella instead of Naturally Erin? Or is it supposed to be Naturally Her? Love your blog and recipes. I’m not vegetarian but I’m trying to eat more vegetarian foods. Your photography is something to strive towards!
Hi Alaina! So, Ella is actually an acronym for my full name. I picked it out six years ago and while I thought about changing it to Erin, Ella just stuck 🙂 Thank you for the kind words!
In spite of the fact that you are rightfully concerned about the impact of social media on…well….everything. I did have to post your website on my fb page as a “recommended” site. Keep up the wonderful cooking…and photography! You are very talented and my palate is happy to have found you! Haha!
Thank you so much for your recipes! It has made our life tastier. Your story resonates with me as my husband had a heart attack last fall at the age of 38, with us having 3 children at home and another on the way. Lifestyle changes were and are a must. Btw, I love your #6. Thank you.
Hi Erin, I recently found your blog through a recipe search. I love your healthy recipes, but even more than than I enjoy your honesty and kind spirit that shines through your writing. Wishing you all the best in your new home.
I’ve awarded you the Liebster Award (for a great blog with under 200 followers)! Pass it along, or just enjoy being awarded.
http://gracefulnutrition.org/2013/05/21/liebster-award/
I’ve been pinterest-ing your meals and I love what you wrote about yourself. I hope you enjoy Cali and the west coast in general. I’m not sure where you’re at now but don’t forget to head up to Oregon and hang out in the wilderness. It’s amazing to say the least. 😀
Hello Erin, I found your website through Pinterest and I am becoming a big fan of your work. I too am a vegetarian I have been for over 10 years now and I love it. I am happy that I found your website especially since my boyfriend isn’t one it makes it challenging to cook for the both of us at times. Now I have found simple, delicious recipes that we both will love!
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and move to California. It is beautiful, though I’m sure Colorado is amazing. I really enjoyed reading your about page. Good luck on your “career” change. I’m on a similar journey and it is very rewarding. Did you recently change the look of your blog? I know I’ve visited before, but it looks different.
I look forward to following.
Hi Justina,
Thank you! I did recently change the layout and updated a few of the pages!
Hi Erin,
Two things. First, I made your Creamy Gorgonzola Rice and Roasted Cauliflower dish the other night and it was incredibly tasty. Second, congratulations on your engagement! Not sure if it’s old news in your world, but since I’m just reading your “About me” today/now, it feels to me like breaking news and totally worth an excited congratulations 🙂 Love your blog, recipes and photos. Best of luck with all the big changes soon!
Andy
Love your site…great info!
Hey, Erin! Random question, but I’ve been wondering: why is your blog called Naturally Ella? For the longest time I assumed your name was Ella :p
Hey A.J.! So, it’s actually my initials (along with my mother’s maiden name so I could have my family tie into my name!)
Oh, that’s so cool! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hello! I just spent the better part of an hour pouring through your recipes. Such beautiful photography, and I’m so pleased that we seem to share the same tastes! The biggest example is our mutual passion for creating recipe after recipe using savory sweet potatoes. Yum!
I seldom read the “about me” right away when finding new food blogs, but after reading yours I found even more similarities. The biggest one is that my heart belongs to the Colorado Rockies. I used to live in Denver but have since moved east.
I’ll be following along from now on! Loving any recipes incorporating sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and quinoa!
I also agree about media addiction. I thought that would NEVER happen to me, but now I definitely am. It’s not quality time spent, so why do I do it? I love beautiful photography, strictly vegan recipes, animal rights activism, and, yes, cats. I didn’t realize there could be so many pictures of adorable cats! ( There are clearly too many cats & dogs, please spay & neuter.) Anyhow, I didn’t realize there could be so many pictures of anything! I will be checking in on your blog & recipes. Good luck with your move. I’m running out to Truckee to visit my son in a few days. I’m so excited, he LOVES it!
Best wishes, Suzanne
Thank you, Suzanne! I’m actually out here now (I need to change that!) and I love it so far. I bet truckee is beautiful- I can’t wait to get there and explore!
Thanks for sharing the top 10. I was raised on meat and potatoes and at age 13 got Type 1 Diabetes. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I had children that I really revamped my diet because of some complications. Since then I have become a vegetarian and my health issues have disappeared. I completely agree with you on the whole weight thing and social media- you are so talkin’ my language!!! I will be returning here often and if you ever open a restaurant I’m coming!
I LOVE your blog. Thanks so much for sharing!
I love your blog. Thanks for sharing with us!
Love your recipes! Also your healthy outlook on focusing on eating healthy and not weight.
Hi Erin! I love cooking, am a committed vegetarian and your recipes are the bomb! Seriously, every one I have tried has been fabulous. Thank you for sharing your great recipes, lovely photos, and your life. 🙂
I just found your site. It looks wonderful. I appreciate reading your perspective on things and the continued support in finding yummy vegetarian recipes. I will keep reading. By the way, I grew up in Chico CA, which is not far from Sacramento. (Now I live in Delaware, which my husband and I call “The Great Flatness”). Try hiking the Sierra Nevada mountains. Maybe they will remind you of Colorado!
Just discovered your blog and I LOVE it! Congratulations for your wedding btw! 🙂
After seeing that I had pinned several of your recipes, I finally decided to try one (which later turned into five) and now I’m here every week as I plan my menu 🙂 I love everything you do with goat cheese and black beans and butternut squash. and my meat loving husband has been very satisfied also. Thank you for great recipes and your photos are amazing as well!
Thank you for the note, Angie! So glad you decided to start trying the recipes 😉
Hi Ella,
I love your website! I really enjoy the fact that you have a section for gluten-free meals as well. I noticed that you were a music professor so perhaps you do understand the life of a music major. I was wondering how do I incorporate all this cooking into my already busy schedule of endless practicing, exercising, working and still trying to have a social life?
and by Ella I meant Erin. *face palm*
Hi Theresa!
Oh gosh- that’s a tough question! Planning ahead is number 1! I would recommend cooking up grains and beans in large batches and keeping them in the refrigerator for the week. I’d live on bean and rice bowls during the week because they were so easy to throw together! Also, grain salads are wonderful and make for great portable meals. Hope that helps a bit!
Love your food and I think you are awesome and beautiful. Be sure to keep eating, writing and having a great time. I’ll keep reading, eating and loving it!
Thank you for such a kind comment, Kayleigh!
Just found your site when googling ideas for arugula! My son had the audacity to grow a bumper crop then, today, fly back east for grad school. The nerve. Your ideas are wonderful — sort of Smitten Kittenish but (ahem) healthier! Look forward to cooking “with” you!
Oh, the nerve! 😉 Thank you for such a kind comment and I’ll accept any comparison to SK!
What a beautiful and relate-able girl. I really appreciate the work, effort, and details you put into your website. I just tried your banana pecan amaranth recipe; and I’m addicted! Thanks for being on this earth Erin. -Michael from NYC.
The information here is awesome!! I can’t wait to try your recipes. I love eating healthy delicious foods and especially love finding kindred spirits.
HI Erin,
I have no idea how I ended up on your blog (maybe Pinterest?). but I did regardless. And it’s beautiful. As I was reading your simple recipes made with real food and then your bio-I immediately thought we were the same person. I am a SoCal native just recently graduated from UCLA and have now moved to rural China to pursue microfinance. I have recently discovered how important it is to eat real food and not the processed junk. Eating healthy in China is quite the challenge because everything is soaked in lots of oil. I am making due though by using rice to soak some of the oil up. When I read your bio about the weight debate, I was in awe because I recently have discovered this- I am naturally pretty slim/average and I love working out. But I have recently found so much freedom in not counting calories, eating whole foods, and exercising for the purpose of being healthy-not anorexically skinny. Thanks for blessing me with your blog!
Blessings,
Rachel Wood
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for such a lovely comment! I can imagine that being in China can be a bit challenging in terms of eating good food but it sounds like you’ve got a wonderful mentality about everything! Best!
#9 = TRUTH. I like the way you think. I also like the way you cook:)
Thank you, Jenn!
Congratulations on your recent marriage and thank you for sharing all the lovely recipes – I’m excited to try some of these!
Thank you, Lindsay!
I found your blog the other day looking for a way to use the butternut squash that I received in my weekly produce box. 🙂 I’m try the one with quinoa and goat cheese tonight. It looks great! Next I’m trying the tacos. 🙂 I love that you’ve been where I was with the unhealthy processed food and are making better choices, too. I also love old cameras and miss the art of black and white photography. We live in NC and it’s beautiful here, but I miss my yearly trips out west to Colorado and California…can’t wait to take my girls. Thanks for your blog!
Thank you for the kind note, Leslie!
I absolutely LOVE your photos and recipes…gorgeous web design! WOW. Great job!
Lillian Amplo
Thank you, Lillian!
I also love what you say about social media, I have been saying that for years now and always felt like an odd ball not having Face Book, My Space…accounts.
Congratulations! I’ve nominated your blog for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. You can find more information here: http://refreshedandfit.wordpress.com
~ Anneli
Great blog! I will be visiting it often. Thank you.
Congratulations, beautiful work.
awesome, stuff, LOVE Colorado 🙂
I’m always trying to eat healthy, fresh and whole food, it works for a month or so but then I start losing enthusiasm again!
I really like the blog, the pictures are really inspiring!
Thank you and congratulations!!
i just discovered your blog!!!

Yes! Thanks for saying hi (and for sharing it with your mom!)
Just discovered your blog through a post from The Kitchn. What a wonderful collection of recipes and beautiful photos!
Thank you and congratulations on a job well done!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!
Hi Erin, I’m writing from Rockford Illinois! You are probably glad to be in California this winter, if you’ve heard about the brutal winter we’ve been having! I had to write after reading you were from Illinois & rescued a Husky. My husband & I have four Siberian Huskies. I love sites for recipes featuring vegetarian ones. I have been Lacto-Ovo for 30 plus years and love to cook. My husband is not vegetarian but is really open to eating meals without meat occasionally. Though I typically do not bust him out in front of friends about eating anything vegetarian. I am the minority in our circles! But it is ok because I enjoy being the unique one!!! I’ll let you know what recipes I make. Heading to that part of your website now!!
I’ve instantly fallen in love with your blog. Gorgeous!
I currently moved out and in the process of completing my masters degree. At this time, I find staying healthy and making meals to be challenging. Your website is informative and I find your recipes easy and absolutely delicious.
Thank you
I’m sorry to say this, but I tried your cinnamon swirl pancakes and was very disappointed. I followed the recipe to a tee and found it a.) Very hard to work with b.) You left out sugar and salt and c.) Its was incredibly bland and had no flavor to it. It was a huge waste of time and money, since I tripled it. I am going to suggest that you recreate this recipe in an appealing way, however I do like the general idea of your blog.
Hi Caiti, I’m sorry to hear that. I just pulled the recipe from the site (it’s older and doesn’t quite fit within the context of the recipes I share now.) Sorry again. Best, Erin
Love your blog! My dad had a heart attack last year at age 50 and it was big a wake up call for my family. Although I still have an enormous sweet tooth, my view on food has changed and as a result, my diet. I will definitely be coming to your blog for recipes! Also, I’m from Sacramento too!
You have a wonderful blog Erin! I love finding like minded people and great new recipes!! 🙂
I adore your website! I only wish I found it sooner. Can you fly to Australia and cook for me?? 🙂 Thanks for all the inspiration!
Hi Erin!
Your website is wonderful, just like my daughter-in-law said it would be. The pictures alone look amazing and good enough to eat themselves!! I can’t wait to get started on making a change in my life by trying some of the many recipes that have been created.
Here’s to healthy eating!!
Teresa Lloyd
Excellent! Excellent photography as well =]
Somehow I’ve made it all this time without reading your about me page, not sure how! I’m fairly new to your site but I’ve loved everything so far 🙂 My blog partner is from Sacramento as well! Looking forward to exploring around more on here.
Hi Erin,
I love your blog, the photography is incredible and the recipes I have made outstanding! My husband and I are decades long vegetarians heading to Sacramento and the Bay Area at the end of May. We already have a couple of restaurant reservations but would love any recommendations you could offer. We love ethnic low key interesting vegetarian/vegan fare.
Unless, of course, you would like to make dinner for us 🙂
Thanks for your amazing work.
Lynn
Hi Erin,
I was looking for black bean recipes and came across your site.

Wait a sec… you live in Sacramento?! That’s where I’m from too. I currently live in NYC, but I come home all the time. I would love to meet up when I am home in July and chat about all things food blogging. 🙂 xo
Great site. I just found it and am looking forward to your delicous recipes.
I am struck by your simplistic, yet elegant work/site. I look forward to reading and looking more. Seriously, I really like your aesthetic. I jumped online to find an interesting rhubarb sauce for ice cream for the boys’ board game night and I found myself on your site. Beautiful photographs…Kerry from St. Paul, MN
Hi Erin. I just discovered your website when searching for vegetarian recipes. I have been vegetarian for over 15 years. Your recipes look delicious and can’t wait to try the one you posted today with zucchini. Thanks for the post you put out yesterday about what has been going on in your life. I will pray for you. I have had a similar issue during the past year. Love your photos, too. Barb
You wouldn’t believe me when I say that I’m completely in love with your web-page. You made my transition into a vegetarian easier and I even feel supported. I have shown this page to my dearest friends and my family and I’ll keep doing it because it’s totally worth it.
Thank you so very much for sharing how eating well can be delicious and simple.
<3
I just found your site today (in my search for vegetarian sloppy joe) and the photos are so enticing and the recipes are just the kinds of things I like to have in my food. Super excited!
Just found your site via Heidi Swanson Cooking 101! Love the black ceramic plates used in your pictures. Where can I find a set of these? I have been looking for black ceramic dinner plates, bowls, etc, for years and cannot find a quality set.. thank you! Kathy
Hi Kathy! Not sure which ones you are referring to. Can you send me an email ([email protected]) with a specific link and I’ll try to let you know 🙂
I’ve probably already left you a message before but I was browsing your newer stuff and I am so blown away by your photography. I come here often for inspiration, a food photographer myself. You really are a brilliant artist. Adding your cookbook to my Christmas list 🙂
I’m looking for the Roasted Butternut Squash, Leek & Gorgonzola recipe by Erin via Foodie Crush. I have just found the website for Foodie Crush and you guys are amazing! I am so looking forward to more of you.
Hi Karen, I’m not sure what recipe that would be! Here’s a list of my Butternut squash recipes- hope this might help: http://naturallyella.com/seasonal-fare/butternut-squash/
Dear Erin, I recently discovered your blog and it has made me so happy! I’ve been wanting to switch to a more seasonal, vegetarian diet and this has been the perfect resource. So far I’ve tried your Spicy peanut sauce with rice noodles and veggies, roasted zaatar sweet potatoes with couscous, curry grilled vegetables with chickpeas and creamy polenta – and I can’t wait to try more. My husband, who has always been a meat-only kind of person has been LOVING these meals. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this blog, and that you have made it so accessible and easy to eat well. Your meals are delicious!!
Hi Erin, you have a very nice blog. I can’t believe you grew up on McDonalds, but then a lot of people don’t prepare their own foods. I actually worked at that place for 7 days, but got so fed up with their culture I flat out quit. Anyway, I found you by searching for a spelt recipe, and it’s good to know other people are doing things with alternative foods. Food is life, and the source of our energy. The chemicals they put in many of the foods they sell in supermarkets is appalling, which is why I like Trader Joe’s now, as they have a lot of things with natural ingredients. Take care, and I hope you get some beautiful rain there in California. We had a freeze here this morning in Michigan, but it didn’t stop me from going outside in my t-shirt to welcome the dawn. (Yeah, I had pants on too, just read that and it sounded weird :))
Am a long time fan, love your site. Thank you for the continued inspiration!
Thank you!
Hi Erin,
Just found your sight, makes me hungry…
Quick question, why do you go for the Acorn Squash vs Butternut etc.?
Regards, McMurphy
Hi! I love your recipes! I’m Italian and for me it’s difficult cooking with spices! I love the combination of vegetables with cereals and spices! It’s a good way of cooking, naturally!
Marzia
So happy to find your blog! Have a fantastic weekend.
Hi there-My daughter (19) just bought your book and it has been so exciting to us. My daughter recently became vegan and your book has opened a new world for us. Last night, we had family over and she made your wild rice and cabbage recipe and it was transformative.
Thank you for what you do. I feel with your cookbook we can not so slowly start to shift how we eat and the rewards are almost instantaneous.
I love how your site is set up…good job…your recipes are always such a delight!
