Need a little easy in your life? Then look no further. With a little help from my friends at Stonyfield and Taylor Farms, I’ve created one of my favorite dressings to date! And it takes less than 5 minutes to put together!
It’s tangy from the yogurt & garlic, but smooth and rich from the avocado. This dressing is so versatile, too… it can go on salads, tacos, baked potatoes, rice or even on baked chicken. It makes a pretty fabulous dip, as well!
I’ve been a huge fan of Taylor Farms salads and veggies for several years (I absolutely love their Asian Chopped Salad kit!), so it was definitely a treat to pair their Baby Spring Mix with this AvoGarlic Yogurt Dressing. I hope you enjoy it, too!
1 c Stonyfield Whole Milk Smooth & Creamy Plain yogurt
1 tbsp fresh minced garlic
1/2 tsp Kosher salt
1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions
Slice the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a food processor and add the yogurt, garlic, salt and olive oil. Blend until smooth.

Throw your hands up in the air, strawberry season is here! After fresh pineapple, strawberries come in at a close second as my favorite fruit and I love to bake with them. Which is perfect, since In The Raw® asked me to recreate their Strawberry Buttermilk Cake, featuring Sugar In The Raw Organic White®!
As a wholesome alternative to refined white sugar, Sugar In The Raw Organic White® crystals are never bleached and retain their natural-white color. It blends beautifully, browns and dissolves easily in cooking and baking and it’s fair trade certified, USDA Organic and non-GMO, so it’s great for both you and the environment.
12 strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced lengthwise
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Butter and flour two 9” cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together jam and buttermilk. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or a large bowl, beat butter until creamy. Add Sugar In The Raw Organic White® and beat until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating in until combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the flour mixture in 2 parts alternating with the buttermilk mixture, beating until smooth. Divide batter between cake pans and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes. Let cool in the pans on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then place a second rack over the cake pans and flip them carefully. Remove the cake pans and parchment and let cakes cool completely.
Make the frosting. In a food processor, pulse the strawberries until finely chopped. In the bowl of a stand mixer or a large bowl, beat the butter until smooth. Add cream cheese and beat until combined. Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Beat in 3 tablespoons of the chopped strawberries.
Place bottom cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand. Top with a thin layer of frosting. Place second cake layer on top, and top with remaining frosting and sliced strawberries. If desired, leave a few berries whole for garnishing.
We enjoyed slices of this delicious cake over Memorial Day weekend, but it’s sure to be the star of the show at your Fourth of July party next month!

Spring has sprung and it’s absolutely beautiful! And now that the babies are getting bigger, we’ve been taking a lot of walks and spending a lot of time playing in the front yard. The weather has been gorgeous, as well, so picnics have been a must. While the little ones can’t indulge in these parfaits […]

Since Chris’ work schedule takes him away from us at night, we won’t be able to celebrate his birthday with our usual dinner & cake tonight. I wanted to send him off to work with a portable sweet treat, so when these Lemon Almonds & Unsalted Organic Almond Butter from Woodstock Foods arrived, I knew […]
A few weeks ago, I posted to Instagram that I was asked to be a part of Walkers Shortbread Society… which means, shortbread all day, err day. Seriously, when this month’s shipment arrived, I opened the box and it was more shortbread than I could ever imagine! So many cookies, so little time, right? Since […]
If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I wear my heart on my sleeve when it comes to coffee. But recently, I’ve become obsessed with drinking loose leaf teas. I’m having a ball trying different flavors and adding a little variety to the coffee & tea bar in my kitchen. Needless to say, […]
Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved. My […]
