The Q Society fund raiser in Sydney
The political winds of change are blowing
John Adams writing in the Spectator takes a shot at Jacqueline Maley’s version of the dinner published in the Sydney Morning Herald. Given the conservative views of the Q Society and its supporters and the left wing cant of bias at all costs by the Fairfax group-thinkers the product outcome was predictable. The Q Society’s platform opposes Islamic immigration and halal certification. Adams plays it straight.
Last Friday, however, following the Sydney event a similar dinner was held in Melbourne at Victoria University. Once certain students got wind of the affair after the event they demonstrated their higher learning and keen spirit to support free speech—as long as it agrees with their Marxist dogma, so they wrote a letter of protest. And the gutless vice-chancellor Professor Peter Dawkins genuflected. [Read more & Comments]
Closing the crap Gap Report
Enough to make you gag!
Indigenous leaders will today hand Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull their blueprint for improvement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs. It is called the Redfern Statement and is backed by more than 50 organisations.
The Aboriginal industry seems to be adhering to the old advertising house motto of shoving the message in the target’s face at every opportunity—and they are. Take a cricket test match lasting five days. You will see a particular ad more than 100 times. It’s a lousy ad to boot. By day two you hate the ad and the crappy product it tries to flog. In the ramp up to constitutional recognition the industry has been sold a pup. One of the demands: More than $5oo million cut from Indigenous Affairs in the 2014 budget to be restored. Only days ago the government announced $5 billion over four years for indigenous programs. Readers may vomit now! [Read more & Comments]

True Lies
Curling is a centuries old sport that has been an Olympic event since 1998. It’s orgins lie in Scotland and in the Flemish speaking regions of the Netherlands.
But it is big time in Canada. Millions watch as men and women slide flat bottomed stones across ice, while two players accompany the slide with brooms sweeping ice in the stone’s path.
It is a sport with more technical terms probably than cricket even; hit,, shooter, tick,. guard, turn, frozen, gripper.
You don’t need to know these terms to appreciate what’s coming next – a traffic tangle described in curling terms as though it was a sporting event. [Read more & Comments]
A case for state sanctioned sterilisation for fire bugs?
This utter moron said that his kids liked fire trucks so dippy daddy lit a fire so his children could see fire trucks in action. Is this what we are breeding?
A former NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteer has been charged for lighting two fires north-west of Forster, with two children in his company during extreme heatwave conditions in the state. Ricky Kenneth Ballard-Lestrange, 31, faced court today on two counts of intentionally causing fire and being reckless to its spread in relation to the Nabiac fires. [Read more & Comments]
Q&A: Lambie and Yassmin Abdel-Magied go at it
Q&A stirring the possum again—what did they expect?
A debate on migration has led to fireworks on tonight’s Q&A program, with outspoken independent senator Jacqui Lambie getting into a screaming match with Islamic youth leader Yassmin Abdel-Magied over sharia law.
Some people simply have too much to say. If you missed it, see here. [Read more & Comments]
Self-Discipline – People are happier (and not as deprived as you think)
As we watch the unhappy youth of today, in their miserable state, demonstrating against everything and demanding all, the following makes sense. Our youth no longer possess that admiral quality called self-discipline that would make them happy.
Turnbull must ignore minorities with 18C
Malcolm Turnbull will be urged to strike out two of the most controversial parts of the nation’s racial hatred laws as Coalition MPs build momentum for change out of concern that the current rules impose a “political correctness” that stifles debate.
Ridding sections of 18C just might be the move to save the PM’s political backside. But history is all but unanimous in that old tin-ear-Turnbull will ignore the obvious as he has done with predictable regularity. The polls are also unanimous in their tolling his death knell. But given the undercurrent of seething pensioners, any spin and tinkering with 18C will be too little too late for Mr Turnbull. The new order of voter revenge is not a passing fad. Only a fool will ignore that. [Read more & Comments]
Redefining politics
Traditional political parties are slowly waking up. A passing populism that would fizzle out. but it has not and now they don’t know quite how to stop the flow of voters who quietly turn to hopes of a new political era. They are ready to abandon inbred political allegiances. They are angry and intend to punish. Revenge is the new forgiveness.
The new movement to save the West from its enemies is so young it doesn’t have a name. Its democratic core has been maligned by the Left in a torrent of PC propaganda. The political Right, too, is wary of the movement that has produced Brexit, Donald Trump and a raft of democratic nationalist parties across the Western world. [Read more & Comments]
