Another TMT classic (from issue 118) , Cap and Tony Stark at odds over booze? Now this is a Civil War that I can totally get behind (and yeah, I’m team Cap all the way).
Some good news for Megoheads, especially attendees of Mego Meet next week. Action Jackson, mego’s first 8 incher will be reborn via Cast-A-Way Toys, here’s what David Lee posted at the Mego Museum Forum:
Yes Action Jackson (Mr. Jackson if your nasty), will be at Mego Meet and exclusively at the 8 inch Superstore (maybe shortly after). This is a limited edition throw back version, the all new AJ and Team A.C.T.I.O.N (Anti Crime Terror International Operations Network) will follow. I will be giving all the details at Mego Meet, so stop by my presentation to hear all about it
Alex- The throwback version will feature upgraded arms and legs, snap on boots and (Pics soon) will have a classic M16, a .45 and a knife.
Just a reminder that the annual Mego convention is just a few short days away this June in Skokie Illinois. Above is a highlight reel of last year, we’re hoping this year is even bigger and better.
Another TMT classic (from issue 124) and featuring the Mego Star Trek Crew. The entire story after the jump!
From Issue 37, November 2000 (still credited to the ToyFare Staff) we have “Luck be a Lady” is six pages of joy that deserves to not be forgotten.

Mego Museum got the scoop on the Jonny Quest line by Figures Toy Company and wow, did they knock this out of the park.
Check it out in their weekly Mego Newsletter.
Still working on resurrecting Megolike.com (although the facebook page is still up and running) in the meantime, here’s another line of modern figures that rocked out world. Slightly taller (at ten inches but then Mego made a few of those too) the Medicom RAH figures were gorgeous and flipping pricey back in the day. Now? I’m picking them up for $20 a piece. Above is Riderman from the Kamen Rider television series. More after the jump!
From Issue 75, November 2003 (still credited to the ToyFare Staff) we have “Crisis on Infinite Megoviles” a ten page romp that deserves to not be forgotten.

In the “Epic News” department, former PAC Toys President Joe Ruzzi has shared his Mego Commercial reels with the Mego Museum. This allows us to see spots for the first time as they were intended and not from 17th generation VHS copy.
The first two releases are out there and wow, the sound and colors are so crisp and nice.
The Museum promises to add a new commercial every week in their Mego Museum newsletter.
Mego Museum broke the news today that three sets of 8 inch and one set of 12 inch action figures of the Monkees are now up for grabs.
I was planning on passing but GAAAAHHHH they look fantastic and well, this was my favourite after school show in 1976 (prime mego buying years) so the little kid inside of me wants these and he won’t shut up about it.

From Issue 18, February1999 (still credited to the ToyFare Staff) we have “The Big Race” this series was never better when the lampooned both DC and Marvel.

Mego Museum gets the exclusive on this new ECC exclusive. Everybody and their brother saw this yellow variant coming but making it a limited edition seems like a great idea as it’s super niche.
This Kresge version will be limited to 700 units and available in January. Which makes me wonder, what else is arriving in January.

I can’t decided which is more epic, the endcap of Fisher Price Sesame Street playsets or the end cap of Mego Star Trek Bridge Playsets. In the end, everybody wins….
The Adventurer was a blow molded (ie cheap) doll and outfit set that shared a lot of parts with Mego’s Action Jackson (many of the outfits are identical and bear the Mego trademark) and then some of the outfits got really whacky, making us wonder what was meant by “adventure”. More after the jump:
