2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Cayuse "Impulsivo" Walla Walla Valley Tempranillo (OCB - 97RP, 92VN, 90WS) in original cardboard. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage is the 2013 Impulsivo. Made from 100% Tempranillo and with only 214 cases made, it has incredible notes of bloody meats, cold fireplace, black cherries, currants and cedar. This gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, structured 2013 that will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring and drink well for a decade or more past that. (JD)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Williams Selyem "Coastlands Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93ST, 92WS, 90JS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Brooding, pungent nose suggests black raspberry, cherry-cola and Moroccan spices, along with notes of dried rose and black tea. The palate offers flavors of sappy dark berry compote and candied violet, with a building spiciness. Lots going on here! Finishes with solid grip and excellent persistence, the violet and spice notes emphatically repeating. This should be a slow ager. 93+ (ST)" (06/2011)

2010 Turley "Rattlesnake Ridge" Howell Mountain Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Turley "Rattlesnake Ridge" Howell Mountain Zinfandel (94RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the clear highlights among these 2010s, the Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge saturates the palate with serious density, yet also maintains gorgeous delineation. Crushed rocks, asphalt and blackberry jam all take shape in the glass, while a core of intense minerality runs through to the finish. Over time, the Rattlesnake Ridge just keeps getting better and better. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2010 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (1.5L) (OWC - 98RP, 97JS, 95VN, 94WS, 92WE) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is a phenomenal achievement and a wine that captures not only the spirit of this classic vintage, but the true essence of an age-worthy wine like Brunello. This single vineyard Riserva is sharp, pristine and immaculate. It starts slow and shy, but then blossoms to beautiful intensity and aromatic brilliance. It delivers a very authentic and genuine read of Sangiovese with wild berry aromas followed by pressed violets, wet earth, tobacco and lightly toasted spice. The bouquet is seamless and very long in persistence. The same holds true for the mouthfeel. The wine delivers a fine and silky texture with a good dose of power and personality at the rear. 98+ (ML)" (03/2016)

Of the 2013 Rivers-Marie "Corona Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon,Vinous writes: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Corona Vineyard has also turned out beautifully, which is indeed saying something, as Corona is a site that does not perform consistently from year to year. Dark cherry jam, graphite, blueberry compote, tobacco and sweet French oak blossom in a powerful, radiant Cabernet endowed with real breadth and volume. I suspect the Corona will drink well earlier than some of the other wines in this range, specifically the Calistoga and Lore Cabernets. This is one of the very best Coronas I can remember tasting at Rivers-Marie. (AG)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Carlisle Yorkville Highlands Petite Sirah ((94-96RP), 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Petite Sirah from the Yorkville Highlands is black/purple to the rim, with an exceptional nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with incense and a perfumed spring flower garden note. Huge, rich, and full, this is a great wine with terrific intensity, length, and purity. Mike Officer deserves huge accolades for these extraordinary wines, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. James Suckling: "So much ripe fruit here with currants and sultanas, yet fresh and very clean. Dark berries too. Incredible ripe Sangiovese character. Full body, with masses of fruit and chewy tan nins. Plus, there’s black licorice and dried berries. Give it time to soften. What a bottle. Will it ultimately be better than 2001 Tenuta Nuova? Yes. 2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (95RP, 94JG, 93BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard tends towards a dark red, almost black expression of wild cherries. It is an intensely coiled, powerful wine in need of a few years of cellaring. The mineral notes speak very clearly in this pointed, beautifully articulated Pinot. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume begins to emerge, but the best is years away. The chiseled, pure finish leaves a lasting impression. This is the most finely-knit, complete wine in the Rhys portfolio. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)" (08/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon-The Three Kings" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, (91-93ST), 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another killer effort is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Three Kings. It’s splitting hairs at this level of quality, but this cuvée achieved 14.8% natural alcohol compared to its siblings’ 14.9%. You certainly can’t tell that in the glass. In fact, you would be hard pressed to believe it was over 13% given the wealth of fruit and layered texture. Abundant blue and black fruit, licorice, graphite and spice notes are present in this beautiful Pauillac-like Napa Valley wine. Full-bodied and opulent, this is another big-time winner from Carter Cellars. Drink it over the next 12-15+ years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Plush and voluptuous to the core, the 2012 hits all the right notes. Dark red stone fruit, chocolate, menthol and spice overtones fill in the layers nicely. This is a fabulous Asterisk. 2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the saturated purple-colored 2004 Proprietary Red Wine is a wonderful monster in the making. It boasts a dense purple color as well as notes of beef blood, creme de cassis, licorice, incense and spring flowers. It looks more like a 2-year-old wine than one that has seen its tenth birthday. Mouth-coating, unctuously textured, corpulent but well-delineated, this is a spectacular Proprietary Red that is even greater than I remember it in its youth. Bravo to Jayson Pahlmeyer (I believe his winemaker at the time was Erin Green) for this dynamic duo of 2004s. (RP)" (04/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Perhaps my favorite grand cru site for Central Coast Syrah is the James Berry Vineyard, which is planted in pure limestone soil on the west side of Paso Robles. Seventy-five percent whole clusters are used. The riveting, opaque purple-tinged 2004 Syrah James Berry Vineyard displays a sumptuous bouquet of scorched earth, blackberries, cassis, tar, and licorice. It cuts a full-bodied swath across the palate with multiple layers of flavor, a huge texture, and fabulous freshness as well as vibrancy, no doubt because of the limestone soils. (RP)" (12/2006)

Fleshy, savory, and full-bodied, it has shed much of its tannin, but still possesses abundant structure. It possesses an inky/blue/purple color in addition to a tight, but promising nose of black currants, crushed rocks, earth and spice. Rich, full-bodied, pure and brilliantly executed, with perfect harmony, this is a sensational yet forebodingly backward, youthful Cabernet Sauvignon that needs 4-6 years of cellaring and should keep another quarter of a century. 2007 Littorai "B.A. Thieriot Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Littorai "B.A. Thieriot Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Littorai derives their unique sustainable farming techniques from the fertile cross currents of permaculture, agro-ecology and the agricultural philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, the father of biodynamic farming. In addition to using only natural materials, they avoid all fertilizers. Estate produced compost is their “fertilizer” of choice. For those sites which they do not farm themselves, they use by-the-acre contracts to insure maximum quality and vineyard control, and they strongly encourage all of their farmer-partners to use only organic materials. They do not employ farm certification systems, as they believe that the true motivation for engaging in sustainable farming practices should not be for marketing purposes, but should be only for the good of the land, for the good of those who work it and for the future generations to whom it truly belongs.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Monbousquet, St-Émilion (94RP, (90-91ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Yields of 28-30 hectoliters per hectare are among the lowest in St.-Emilion, which no doubt accounts for the wine's explosive richness. The final blend, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in 100% new oak, with aging on the lees. It boasts a saturated plum/purple color in addition to an exotic bouquet of Asian spices, plum liqueur, prunes, and blackberries. Wine & Spirits: "The wine has all the flavor elements you would hope to find in Syrah grown in the best sites of the northern Rhône: cool meatiness, lasting black pepper spiciness, scents of lavender and wild berries. And yet it doesnt taste like it's trying to mimic anything; it tastes like it belongs exactly where it grows (a vineyard at 1,300 feet, on an east-facing slope surrounded by forest). This wine has phenomenal intensity, with plenty of crushed rock, pineapple, honeysuckle, orange and tangerine blossom in an elegant, medium to full-bodied style, with terrific intensity, good acidity and freshness. 2003 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the smallest crops to be included in the Ridge Monte Bello, only 32% of the production made it into the 2003, which is largely Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. Out of barrel as well as post-bottling I liked this wine a lot, and it has changed very little from when I last tasted it in February, 2010. It boasts an inky/blue/purple color along with sweet black currant, blueberry, graphite, licorice and toasty vanillin aromas. The tannins are still noticeable in this full-bodied 2003, but seem reasonably well-integrated. Forget this wine for another decade and drink it over the following 30+ years. (RP)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Quinault L'Enclos, St-Emilion (94RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This highly-focused wine exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue in addition to a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, blueberries, camphor, spring flowers, and spice box. With superb concentration, a hint of minerals, and a lovely textured mouthfeel, it should be approachable in 5-6 years, and age easily for two decades or more. (RP)" (04/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Ramey "Jericho Canyon" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (96RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The top wine, the Jericho Canyon Proprietary Red, emerges from a vineyard northeast of Calistoga. Revealing exceptional intensity, along with a flamboyant, open-knit personality, the 2002 Jericho Canyon Proprietary Red (two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Merlot, and a tiny dollop of Cabernet Franc) exhibits a deep purple color along with sweet fruit, and juicy, smoky bacon fat notes intermixed with creosote, creme de cassis, scorched earth, and toasty oak. This voluptuously-textured 2002 can be drunk now or cellared for 15+ years. (RP)" (02/2005)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a slightly more brooding and formidably endowed effort displaying more extract, tannin and structure. In spite of its massive size, concentration and extract, it possesses gorgeously sweet tannins as well as a sense of equilibrium. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Outpost Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 80% new French oak) shows not a trace of oak and has wonderfully sweet blueberry and blackberry fruit in the nose, along with some licorice, incense, and charcoal embers. The color is opaque to the rim, and the wine full-bodied, with the blue fruits dominating on the palate. It has a finish of a good 40-45 seconds. Tannins are moderate, but very sweet and well-integrated. It should drink well for 20 years or more. (RP)" (10/2016)

2002 Torbreck "Descendent" Shiraz
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Torbreck "Descendent" Shiraz (96JH, 96RP, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,000 cases of the 2002 Descendant, a blend of 92% Shiraz and 8% Viognier that spent 18 months in 2-year-old French oak. The fruit is sourced from the section of the Barossa Valley known as Marananga. The Viognier and Shiraz are co-fermented together, and the name, Descendant, comes the fact that it is essentially the same blend as the famed Run Rig, but sees no new oak. A magnificent effort, the dense ruby/purple-colored 2002 Descendant offers gorgeous aromas of crushed blackberries, raspberries, licorice, acacia flowers, and the added notes of honeysuckle and apricots from the Viognier. Full-bodied and opulently textured, with good tannin, structure, purity, and a broad, expansive finish that lasts nearly a minute, it needs 1-2 years of cellaring, and should keep for 12-15+." Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Taylor Vintage Port (98RP, 96WE, 95ST, 95WS, 94JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Among the most saturated blue/purple/black-colored examples of the vintage, Taylor's 2000 tastes like a young vintage of Chateau Latour on steroids. Aromas of graphite, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis and smoke jump from the glass. Spectacularly concentrated and enormously endowed, with sweetness allied to ripe tannin, decent acidity, and layer upon layer of fruit and extract, this is the leading candidate for the port of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2040. (RP)" (10/2002)

Wine Spectator: "Firm and tightly wound, with excellent structure, depth, focus and concentration, but so compact now that it's unfair to uncork it. The laser beam of herb-laced currant, blackberry, mineral, pepper and black licorice are slow to unfold, but the proof is in the finish, where the flavors are presented on a beam of purity. Best from 2012 through 2022. " (10/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93DC). Decanter: "Almost Bordelais in style and weight, this elegant Napa Cabernet blend comes from one of the state’s coolest ever vintages. No matter; the wine boasts supple cigar box spice, lively acidity, sweet plum and blueberry compote fruits with a floral violet flourish. The tannins are soft and savoury and there’s tremendous sense of vitality, youth, harmony and pleasure from start to the long imperious finish. For the record, the assemblage is 76% Cabernet, 14.5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and an all-important half per cent of Malbec, all of which was aged in US oak for two years."
