Hands of Peace California

Every year Hands of Peace turns away deserving and impressive applicants who could and would become peace-promoting leaders if given this opportunity for growth. Our new Summer Program in San Diego has enabled us to give more teenagers—as well as hundreds of new volunteers and families—the opportunity to help build a grassroots and global movement for non-violence, reconciliation, and lasting peace.

The Site Director of HOP California is Scott Silk, a long-time HOP facilitator. During the year, Scott works as a teacher at Pacific Ridge High School, and he brings his students on a biennial trip to Israel and Palestine.  Pacific Ridge hosted HOP’s inaugural 2014 San Diego Summer Program!

Please contact Scott Silk at [email protected] if you live in the San Diego area and are interesting in becoming an HOP host family or volunteer!

HOP gave me the feeling that people really care. What I’ve learned is that when I talk I should not try to convince people, I should try to say what I feel, and I should try to understand.
