Old slang, meanging gun. Came from shortening Gattling gun to just gat. Was used during the prohibition era to name any gun, but specifically the thompson submachine gun, aka The Tommy Gun.

Slang for a gun, but not that you wiggas care, it actually comes from the prohibition era, usually referencing the Thompson (Tommy) gun. Its doesnt come from rap or California. Sorry boyz.

Slang for gun. Contrary to (apparently) popular belief, it is not a term created by modern rap stars, but has been in use since the prohibition era.
