I'm so excited with how my #illustratedrecipes turned out for my final illustration project. I have a few more ideas on this theme to work on over the summer! #catherinescanlon #catherinescanlondesigns #illustration #foodillustration #tombowdualbrushpens #dualtipbrushpens #tombow @tombowusa

Good morning and happy Saturday! I used 4 markers to color this page -- maroon, dusty pink, grey and chartreuse (Tombow N79, 772, 757 and 133) . I think it needs more work with colored pencil, the center of the large flower looks a little wonky to me! Stop believing the lies you tell yourself! For EVER I thought the only thing I would ever be good at drawing were flowers. I'm pretty happy to tell my inner critic to go away now! #catherinescanlon #catherinescanlondesigns #illustration #tombowdualbrushpens @tombowusa #watercolor #toast

I had to do a #tessellation for a homework assignment this week. While I'm not great at geometry, I think it turned out pretty good! If you're not sure what a tessellation is, think about the cool illustrations by MC Escher! I'll be honest, this did not turn out anywhere near what I had in mind, but I'm pretty happy with the result! It's pretty easy to get lost in the weeds, lol. #catherinescanlon #catherinescanlondesigns #illustration #patterndesign

Conversation just a few moments ago: Him: I thought you had a lot of homework? Me: I do, just getting my daily dose of happy in. This is my favorite so far, and last one like this for a bit. I'm moving on to apply my craft to toast. I mean, what's a gluten free girl gotta do to get some fancy toast in her life? #catherinescanlon #catherinescanlondesigns #positivity #tombow #needmoregreens #illustration #artjournal

Over the last few weeks I've noticed a shift in my internal voice. It's gone from I wish I could do that -- or I can't (create like that, draw like that, paint like that ) -- too I love that -- and I can do it in my own way just as good, just as pretty, just as effective as that. I can (paint - draw - mixed media whatever it is) in my own style and way -- and it will be mine and just as good as that. #catherinescanlon #catherinescanlondesigns #watercolor #waterbrush #tombowdualbrushpens #dualtip #bestill #icandothat #positivity #illustration
