Our Take on the Lagunitas-Heineken Deal

Fuck Lagunitas. California craft brewer Lagunitas announced last week that they agreed to sell a 50 percent stake of their company to global shit beer producer Heineken. The initial rumor floating around the interwebs pegged the moolah exchanging hands at a billion dollars.

Celebrator, Ayinger

Rings gives Celebrator, Ayinger 4 mugs. Celebrator is probably the granddaddy of all the German dopplebocks, at least in terms of U.S. awareness, and it’s one of the most awarded, winning early and often at the World Beer Championships, including Platinums in 2005 and 2007.

Celebrator is also certainly the most famous dopplebock on these shores and its bottle, with the little plastic billy goat hanging around the neck, is easily recognizable to any Beer Dork.

BA definition of "craft" beer in limbo after court ruling. We have more important things to worry about in the beer world than semantics. Call us cynical, but this seems like a terrible idea. Uberon?? Yes, please! If you knew nothing of the politics of beer leading up to the Macro Merger, this article does a great job explaining it. It's done: AB-InBev and SABMiller have merged. Only time will tell how disastrous it'll be for beer drinkers everywhere.
