Hope everyone is having a relaxing holiday season. It’s a heatwave here in Aus and these tops are perfect – two Style Arc Esme tops.
I made this top from scraps left over from a (disastrous ) mother of the bride dress. That dress might have been a failure but it did yield silk jersey scraps.
Such a luscious and luxurious fabric. This make has some hidden seams where I’ve pieced the scraps together (in the hem turn-ups) as well as some more obvious ones ( on the collar). Continue reading

Channel your inner rock chick.
The pattern I used was Style Arc’s Harper jacket. This mesh is a very stretchy black and silver.The seams and edges all done with a narrow rolled hem on the overlocker. A simple fun make.

I tried a pattern with draping for the first time and I like it. This is the Style Arc Billie top.
It’s just one piece of fabric ! (and one facing). It looks so strange as you cut it out. Then suddenly it makes sense and suddenly it looks so elegant.
For this one I used a viscose crepe that I had earmarked for a dress. Purchased from the Fabric Store, I can’t decided if it’s lavender or grey. I’ll go lavender. Continue reading
Pinterest I was not alone in opening the Tessuti package, throwing the lace over the table and thinking mmmm nice tablecloth.
This is my entry for the #tessuticutoutlacecomp – to create an outfit that showcases one of three gorgeous laces, a black, white and red, all the same solid, easy to work with lace with the same cut out pattern.
I chose the red and in the end I think it’s a rather woo hoo frock. There were so many possibilities with the cut-out pattern matching, it was fun rearranging and trying differnt placements to show off the lace.
My obsession with the bell sleeves continues, how are these red lace sleeves?
