Fundación Casa Wabi ArtReview Residency Award 2017

Who can apply?

Applications are welcome from all artists, irrespective of background, age, nationality or career.

What form should my application take?

Your application should be sent in PDF format, under 25mb, and should include the following:

A 500 word proposal for a project to be completed with and for the benefit of the local communities in the towns surrounding Casa Wabi.

Up to 5 images that summarise your work or artistic practice.

Your C.V. (maximum 2 pages).

Please state if you have a preferred time period for your residency, Spring or Autumn (dates below).

What are the requirements and timeframe of the project?

Your project should be carried out and finished within the terms of your residency, which can last from one to three months.

All residents are asked to produce a log of their stay, in the format of their choosing, which will stay at Casa Wabi.

What are the available time periods?

The available time periods are:

Spring – between 23 April and 30 June 2017

Autumn – between 1 August and 15 December 2017

Where should my application be submitted?

Your application should be submitted to the email address [email protected] with Residency Prize 2017, followed by your name, as the header, by the deadline date of 1 August 2016.

How will the successful artists be chosen?

The jury will base their decision on the quality of your work, the potential for your community project and its feasibility within the region.

Successful applicants will be notified by email on September 1st, 2016. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email within the first week of September.

What will the prize include?

Return international airfare to Puerto Escondido from your closest Aeromexico destination, (sponsored by Aeromexico). For a list of destinations see here https://flights.aeromexico.com (please note that applicants will need to cover the taxes from this airfare).

Lodging, studio space and three meals per day. Each residence offers a comfortable private bedroom, a multi-purpose room, library, WiFi and laundry service.

Up to $500 USD budget for your community project.
