What we witnessed in Gaza was the destruction of an entire society. Healing will not be easy.

As a nurse working in the disintegrating healthcare system, I have seen too many Palestinian children suffer.

After being quite comfortable with al-Assad’s tyranny for decades, Israel now fears what Syrian democracy could do.

The war has destroyed my community, my city, my sense of belonging and has left me in a state of deep alienation.

The Arab Spring did not bring democracy to the region, but it remains a beacon of hope for struggling Arabs.

Not standing in solidarity with Gaza because of the need to make African conflicts visible is the wrong approach.

I continue to report from Gaza because I want to make a record of our existence – our dignity, resilience and hope.
