| source And I could find tons of pictures of well-made, enviable really, fabric pumpkins and even some promises of tutorials but most of the links were to dead ends. I guess this is a fad I am getting into after the rush! Then I started thinking about pumpkin pincushions which would make these little critters functional as well as decorative. (And in my crowded sewing room, that is a plus!) I found a tutorial for pumpkin pincushions here at the Fiskars website. It always interesting to read the instructions on these, because I would have gone about making it a little differently. (I would have made a stuffed ball all in one colour and then added a stem) but I prefer the matching of colours on this site.... I'm so busy these days that fabric pincushions is a small and realistic project for me right now. I am taking two courses - one a teacher's class and one is a creative writing class. And I have a goal to make Thursday nights my sewing nights.... If you are looking for a list of Halloween crafts, check out this post A Big List of Halloween Crafts |

One Give Away; Two Burda Magazines
I forgot to put up a March Burda Magazine give away. The truth is March just flew by for me...I had dental surgery, a week at the Ministry of Education and a whole bunch of grading to do on top of the regular day-to-day teaching...so I am combining this month's give away with last month's give away.
Two Burda Magazines...one is the August 1979 issue and the other is the April 1982 issue. This draw is for both.
I'll mail them anywhere in the world, all you have to do to enter is be a follower of this blog and leave a comment below. Draw on April 20th. Good luck everyone!

A Big List of Canadian Sewing Blogs And Growing
I know there are lists of sewing blogs out there, and even a map or two of sewing enthusiasts, but I have nonetheless, created my own list and I hope it grows. If you know of a Cdn blog that isn't listed - a blog whose primary purpose is sewing rather than quilting or other crafts - please let me know in the comments and I will edit this list.
Updated - March 2014, with a big thanks to Rose!
