    It is amazing, though, how almost everyday Tzipi Hotovely fails to fufill the most basic aspect of her job, which is to maintain good relations between Israel and the rest of the world, and with American Jews in particular.

    American Jews' service in the military was a major part of their successful integration. What's interesting is that many American Jews don't talk about the military the way most Americans do, though they could. My grandfather served in Korea, my great uncle in Japan.

    The repression faced by civil society groups in Israel is a symptom of two developments: 1. The internationalization of the occupation, and 2. Investigations against Netanyahu. Both will ramp up exponentially in the near future. No reason not to expect more repression.
