Trying to get my republican uncle to come with me to the Women's March in DC! I told him I'd make him a sign that says "I PREFERRED CRUZ"

If you think, like I did, you'd rather jump off a cliff than go to an event hosted by your congressman & start shouting, TRY IT. I loved it.

I am realizing I need to fight this fight for myself. Not because I think it will bring change, but despite the fact that it may not.

But it felt terrific to start telling him directly about how badly he's fucking up. It felt good for my heart. It was the right thing to do.

I talked about my parents, I got upset. I LEFT FEELING FUCKING AMAZING. Do I think I can change my hard-right GA congressman's mind? No.

Again, this was just a staffer, a 23 year old kid. But we pummeled him w/ questions for 45 minutes straight. We had signs, we had arguments.

The group had talked beforehand about our approach - we were focussing on the ACA. We had our questions thought out & printed ahead of time.

HEY! UPDATE!! So a group of us went to this "open office" being hosted by the staff of GA district 10s rep, John Hice. I was scared as fuck.

Now she's healthy & well! WTF would have happened if she hadn't gotten insured, if they hadn't caught it right away

Oh did I mention that before the ACA my mom was uninsured. She got insurance, went to the doctor, & they caught early signs of breast cancer

Wish me luck y'all, I..... don't WANT to ask emotional political Qs to some republicans at a golden corral in deep georgia, but here I go

My dad had a pre-exisiting condition that forced him to be uninsured without the ACA. Without it their life savings would be gone. @jodyhice
