    Courage? Not so much. Since the book on which this piece is based has been thoroughly & critically reviewed by scholars, a courageous article would have seriously grappled with all of it, not just the caricature it creates in order to attack. C'mon editors. Demand more.

    Read this. From Prof. Burt Visotzky's Aphrodites and the Rabbis. Torah, if always (or even mostly) disconnected from the secular/broader world in which we live--and its politics--probably isn't authentic to the interpretive rabbinic tradition we've inherited & cherish so much.
