    This. I’m 9 days into my “off-season” and am not missing running nearly as much as I thought I would. Proof my body and my mind were ready for a break.

    Hard training and racing is not just physically taxing, it’s also emotionally demanding. Use recovery days, as well as post-season breaks, to rejuvenate your mind and soul as well as your body.

    Yeah coaching someone with this much talent is fun. But just like any athlete it's the effort and the willingness to work through setbacks and continual improve that makes the journey really special. Here is to another year...and big things.

    So great to finish the 2017 season on this result, hitting that top 5 and running faster than 2016 on a much slower course. Huge thanks to my coach, , for all of the sound advice and belief through a tumultuous season. Big things ahead of us, Matt!
