    Sorry, but I’m not going to make this f2f In general, I feel that apis that presume one box per dom node are a mistake, and I don’t want to see that carried over into new ones. It gets in the way when we try to add new layout features.

    Please, y'all, train your HR departments not to be this kind of stupid.

    “You don’t need a degree to get a job in tech!” But I can recall at least two jobs where the hiring manager was convinced I was perfect but HR binned my application because “college degree” was a tick mark in the system. Both roles would’ve gotten me where I wanted faster.

    I'm not sure staying up to work from 10pm-2am is generally a good way to compensate for time management failures, but I got through drafting up edits on some of the tougher open Grid 1 issues so worth it? I think I should stop and go home now, tho.

    FOR EXAMPLE, an SVG charter. Given only "Yes, I support the charter / No, I don't support the charter [because reasons, most of which are fixable]", fixable problems tend not to be fixed because "most people support the charter as-is". They don't. They just support working SVG.

    In related news, I think this is why AC votes on charters/specs/etc should take the form "Yes, I support / No, I don't support [reasons, hopefully fixable ones, but maybe not] / I support the idea generally but didn't review this specifically in detail".

    The manner in which national bodies vote on ISO standards also hurts. Most countries vote "yes" by default when they don't have time to review a standard, and there are lots of standards. Almost nothing gets rejected. I campaigned to halt a bad ISO standard once, it was hopeless.
