Totally agree. We speak/write often to mostly-young audiences living far from Mid East. We've learned (generalizing) that history baffles them. Most lack an overall context into which to plug today's news. V few have the discernment to recognize horrible deeds when they see them.

Most Twitter users (a) have never heard of the word "Judenrein" and don't know what it means; (b) have close-to-zero idea of the context in which its use first became widespread; (c) don't understand what any of this has to do with Jordan (the country - not the sports shoe).

I asked our embassy folks as well. My advice-go directly to the Trump administration and demand justice. No one can argue that intentionally killing teenagers in a pizzeria is freedom fighting no matter how dear the cause may be. Killing children with intent to do so is terrorsm

The immediate neighbors of these "West Bank" people happen to be a uniquely successful, resource-thin young state with huge goodwill and capacity to share for the mutual benefit. Seeing "no alternative" is an expression of generations of catastrophic Arab leadership failure.

A "hero" who tied up a young Jewish mother in her office, then shot her dead in that helpless position. As security cameras recorded it, ran down the stairs like a terrified schoolgirl after killing a second helpless Israeli. A hero. A role model. A resistance fighter. Feh!

For the Jews, those European blazes haven't stopped burning for generations.

Like any vast multi-billion dollar org, @UNRWA which employs tens of thousands of people, has a multi-tiered management structure, professional advisers, board members. Not one of them has reacted to this. And no one who follows the ongoing UNRWA scandal is surprised.

An under-appreciated truth, @FranatAFI. Not "two sides of the coin". Not "He said, she said". Not "the cycle of violence". Evil and degeneracy are real and certainly do exist in human form. Sometimes you're left with no option but to fight them until they're utterly defeated.

Scenes like this, candies to celebrate slaughter, capture what's turned many Israelis away from openness to yet more painful compromise in pursuit of peace. Arguably today's sense: The Arab side are in the grip of hatred, dreams of triumph. We have no choice but to wait them out.

Is @IslamOssama1 unaware of the Arab world's many female terrorists? The honor they're given? The pride they arouse? Course he knows. In the cognitive version of today's terror, people are persuaded that terror and counter-terror are two sides of a coin. No such coin exists.

So saddened by how much unhappiness and despair will now have overtaken the lives of those who loved the barbaric shooter's victims. And enraged by how so many of our neighbors are thrilled by the killings. And by the honors now being bestowed on the killer.
