    This again. What jumps out from Chardine’s tweet is the anti-Jewish malice. It’s hatred. This isn’t how you would speak to someone who was experiencing racism, even if you thought the racism was somehow less than yours. It’s visceral anti-Jewish hatred spat out in a tweet.

    One aspect of modern antisemitism is the spiteful venom with which individuals like Chardine seek to excommunicate Jews - and only Jews - from the community of solidarity when it comes to racism. This anti-Jewish impulse is steeped in profound ignorance of Jews & antisemitism...

    To be white-passing is a privilege. But you don't have to be Jewish to be white-passing, you could be mixed race, for example. Also antisemitism is arguably unique in that it's directed at people who're perceived as being powerful in a way that other racisms don't, (usually).

    If you know anything about working in the arts, there is absolutely no reason to think Tracy Ann Oberman is wealthy just cos she's been in lots of stuff, unless you think it's got something to do with her being, y'know, Jewish.

    If there is a BNP/EDL or NF march happening it is people who look like me who are looking over our shoulders as we are VISIBLE targets. Not some wealthy white person with blonde hair whose thinking they are the most oppressed of oppressed.
