    In honor of her installation as Head of School this evening, Shlenker students presented Dr. Barton with a beautiful silver mezuzah this morning!

    With cheers and glasses held high, Ms. Lyon's first graders toasted one another with flutes filled with sparkling apple cider in celebration of each student's publication of their small momment books. After the toasts, students shared their finished books with one another!

    Mrs. Rosenbaum's first graders just completed Unit 1 of their Phonics Workshop! They learned to look closely at all the parts of words to see how words work. After finishing the unit, there was a special graduation ceremony.

    Shlenker is so lucky to have alumna, Zoe Kampf, teaching PreK-4. Zoe is the granddaughter of the school's founder & Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Beth Israel, Rabbi Sam Karff. This week, Rabbi Karff paid a special visit to the school when he came to read to Zoe's PreK-4 class.

    A new season of Fifth Grade Social Studies Chopped kicked off this morning in Mr. Phillips's class! The topic was "British Settlements" and teams had 12 minutes to use the items in their baskets to share their knowledge of the topic. Great job students and Mr. Phillips!

    After reading the story “The Olive Tree” from Chaverim Be’ivrit Book 3, the 5th-grade students got to experience making their own olive oil. After great effort smashing rock to olive, the students realized that making olive oil is a true hands-on experience.
